Job Title: Design & Digital Officer

Reporting to: Deputy Marketing Manager

Responsible for: Not applicable

Job Purpose: The primary function of this role is to provide support to the marketing and sales areas of the Torch Theatre (the Torch). This will involve working closely with colleagues in the Marketing team, Programming team and Box Office providing a strong, positive and enthusiastic link between all areas of the business ensuring a smooth flow of co-ordination amongst important sales and marketing functions as well as some frontline customer facing duties.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Senior Manager – Marketing, Press and Communications (MPC) and the Deputy Marketing Manager in the implementation and delivery of the marketing strategy helping to maintain and develop audiences.

2. Design of digital and print marketing content both for web and print platforms in line with the theatre’s brand guidelines. This includes weekly and monthly listings adverts, MPUs, leader boards, mobile banners and other adverts as requested by management.

3. Design and create show material including brochures, programmes, posters and leaflets for Torch Theatre Productions, Sunset Cinema and other productions when requested.

4. Help to build and increase digital engagement on the Torch’s social media and digital platforms – currently Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google and Youtube.

5. Design and create branded print and digital material to be used for corporate, recruitment and business to business projects in line with the requirements of management.

6. Identify appropriate external websites for the Torch to be featured, including listings sites, tourism websites and other, targeted websites for solus events. This should include online advertising, online editorial and Pay Per Click (PPC) opportunities.

7. Providing an informed point of contact for the show promoters, producers and others on matters relating to the Torch and its work.

8. Attending marketing events and meetings including Sunset Cinema in agreement with the Deputy Marketing Manager.

9. Work with others, as appropriate, in creating and uploading promotional videos on the Torch’s television screens and till system.

10. Support the Torch’s marketing in other projects/areas including Café Torch, Gallery, community groups, workshops and behind the scenes.

11. Attend theatre shows and cinema screenings as required, both at the Torch and other venues.

12. To work with the Box Office team to ensure that a friendly, welcoming and consistently excellent standard of service is offered to all customers, undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks including, when required:

• Look after and record request letters for raffle prizes and donations.

• Capture customer data in accordance GDPR, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and kept up to date on the Box Office database.

• Maintain and update show posters across the building as required.

• Carrying out administrative work generated by the above activities

• Undertaking other duties as may be reasonably required

Person Specification – Design & Digital Officer

Essential

• A keen interest in the arts and theatre

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a ‘can do’ positive attitude

• Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube Business suites & Google Analytics/Adwords

• Knowledge of graphic design packages including Photoshop

• A commitment to first class customer service

• Strong attention to detail

• Able to work quickly and accurately and to remain calm whilst working under pressure

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Desirable

• Knowledge of using a computerised Box Office ticketing system and Mailchimp

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Understanding of marketing and sale principles

• The ability to speak, read and write Welsh including interesting and literate copy
