About the Role

  • Working as part of the Guardian's editorial design team, design and build cross-platform interactive interfaces, new story formats and widgets across the Guardian online

  • Look for innovative ways to tell stories in a mobile-first way
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and new storytelling techniques.

About You

  • Solid experience with modern web best practices such as WC3 standards, responsive design, progressive enhancement and accessibility
  • Experience in building pages to high fidelity for graphic design; working closely with digital designers to craft digital experiences
  • Prototyping and testing
  • Front-end web development technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript), experience with modern Javascript frameworks/libraries (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js) as well as traditional JavaScript libraries (e.g. jQuery, Handlebars)
  • Developing for multiple, supported browsers and apps
  • Understanding of use cases for modern layout systems such as CSS Flexbox, Grids and Regions, etc
  • Ideally, you'll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role

We actively encourage applications from candidates who are BAME or from other groups traditionally underrepresented in the UK media.

How to Apply
