Job Description
About Poppins:
Here at Poppins, we create emotive design, brand identities, smart digital products and creative strategy. We’re looking for a Junior Designer with a love of contributing to high-quality work across a range of projects — from brand creation to brand campaigns and content — to join our team.
About you:
As a Junior Designer here, you’ll be excited to learn and grow your skillset. You’ll be open to working on a range of projects and be able to use the foundations of your knowledge on whatever creative brief you are faced with.
This role is structured to build your skillset and grow within the company from mentorship with senior members of the team. Within the brand design team, you’ll continue to hone your skills crafting brand systems (including bringing brands to life through animation) and artworking files for client delivery. You’ll learn how to professionally engage with clients, manage your time across projects, and communicate effectively and efficiently with your team members.
A Junior Designer at Poppins does not work in isolation — thoughts and ideas are shared between the wider team regardless of hierarchy, so you’ll often be sharing your opinion with others, as well as hearing feedback on your work.
Who we’d like to find:
- Someone with a genuine love and passion for the creative process
- Strong graphic design skills from either previous employment or a relevant higher-education course
- Proficiency in design tools and software (Adobe Suite, Figma — bonus if you've ever dabbled in Cinema 4D or other 3D software)
- Good knowledge of design principles
- Attention to detail and big creative thinking
- Great communication and time-management skills
About the role:
- Contributing to the creation of new brand graphics, logos, visual identity systems, colour schemes, typography, layouts, icons and animations
- Creating both static and animated graphics, including illustrations and visualisations
- Participating in creative workshops and research
- Collaborating closely with both the creative and wider teams
- Supporting the team with various design tasks
- Pitching in with general studio support tasks and activities whenever needed
What we offer:
- Competitive salary
- 25-days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Training support and personal career development
- A flexible-working pattern, with a 1-day a week WFH policy (the rest of the week is based in our Central London office)
- Monthly wellness allowance
- Company-supplied pension
- Community Day (once a year charity offsite)
- Monday team breakfasts
