4 Month Sabbatical Cover - Midweight Designer

We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Midweight Designer to join our growing creative team as sabbatical cover for 4 months – November 2025 – February 2026.

You’ll collaborate closely with our design team, bringing ideas to life through exceptional visual design that blends strong brand storytelling with intuitive digital experiences.

The successful candidate will have a proven history of strategic brand design, logo design and identity development and strong animation skills. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with proven industry professionals in an award-winning agency and develop your own design skills and discipline.

Your day-today will include:

• Brand & identity design

• Typography, layout and traditional graphic design

• Motion design & animation for digital and social content (e.g. After Effects)

• Digital / web design

• Editorial & publication design

• Design research & presentation development

• Concept development through to final production

• Participating in client presentations

Ascend Studio is a brand strategy, design and digital consultancy based in Farringdon, London, established in 2006. We specialise in creating meaningful connections between brands and people; working historically across technology, arts & culture, lifestyle & leisure, professional services and entrepreneurial sectors for both B2B and B2C markets, nationally and internationally.

The role is full-time and studio-based Monday – Thursday, WFH Friday. We are based in Farringdon, London.

You will have:

• 4–6+ years of experience in a brand and digital design role (agency or in-house)

• A portfolio that showcases strong brand identity work and digital design

• Excellent working knowledge of Adobe CC and Figma.

• Strong animation and motion design skills (e.g. After Effects, Premiere, or equivalent)

• An intelligent approach to concept generation

• Attention to detail, focus and consistency

• Exceptional typographic and layout skills

• Passion for people and the planet

Salary £35k pro-rata over 4 month term.
