Job Description

About Us:

ASK US FOR IDEAS (AUFI) exists to connect brands with the top 1% of the industry's creative agencies. Over the last decade, we’ve built a powerful network. Hundreds of the most imaginative, innovative, exceptional creative agencies in the world. We work with brands of all scales and help them connect with this network, finding them their perfect agency partner across BRANDING, DIGITAL and MARKETING. Set up by two lifelong friends, now a team of 12, we pride ourselves on making a meaningful difference to the brands and agencies we work with.

Learn more about AUFI, what we do and why we do it in this article originally published in IDEA Magazine.

The Opportunity:

AUFI turned 10 last year and with that milestone came renewed ambitions to significantly accelerate our content offering. To date, we have produced a number of initiatives; Private View(s) is our ongoing podcast series that dives deeply into the working practices of the studios we represent (whilst also exploring the brand-side characters we work with). The Creative Study was a deep dive into why creativity matters, where it’s headed, and how it’s become our last true competitive advantage - it featured opinions from a collection of the world’s most reverend creative minds and aimed to position us as thought leaders in a world where creativity is a currency. Insights is an ever evolving module on our website that serves as a destination for our own thoughts, conversations and news. Where We Stand was an exploration into how creativity might help solve reintegration into society post a locked-down and socially distanced summer of 2020.

What’s next…

We feel the next chapter of our business is about amplifying the voices and stories from our incredible network, and building on what we've done to date. We’re fortunate enough to have relationships with 250+ of the most exciting creative agencies in the world and work over 200+ different brands each year; How can we tell the stories of the businesses we support and the creatives we work with in a way that brings value to both worlds?

Our office space in Soho, London affords us opportunities to engage with the industry we work in more physically — a gallery-space-come-office which we hope to activate over the coming years via a series of events, brand takeovers, exhibitions, conversations, provocations and showcases.

The Role:

We are looking for someone who is a writer at their core and is excited to help tell the stories of brands of all scales, as well as of agencies (+ how the two interact). We’re looking to continue profiling those running the businesses we support, from CMOs to start-up founders, and agency leaders – and to produce written content that shines a light on how our connections have helped them achieve success.

Whilst we have a clear idea of the various content streams we want to develop (including series’ that we’ve already started) we would like our new Content Strategist / Writer to bring their own content strategy skills to the team, helping us hone our overarching strategy, and evolving it into something greater. Someone to help us focus on what stories we should be telling across the right mediums and who can manage and deliver these various streams from idea to execution.

About you:

We’d love to see applications from individuals from a range of different professional backgrounds applying for this role however some skills and experience that might be appropriate are:

A love for writing: Helping drive the editorial content we publish. Researching, concepting and writing interviews, op-eds, and insights pieces.

Marketing / Content Strategy Knowledge: Owning the responsibility for evolving AUFI’s content strategy and helping oversee and execute on it end-to-end.

Social Media Fluency and an understanding of Digital Channels: Helping define content strategy across our social channels - from concept through to execution. Helping us use the right digital channels (including LinkedIn) to engage the right audience, at the right time, with the right message.

Analytical Skills: Our team has 10 years of experience and it will be crucial for you to be able to observe, research and interpret information from this team to develop complex ideas that can be translated into compelling content.

Highly Organised: A clear ability to prioritise, plan and project-manage short, medium, to long-term activities, and to be comfortable adjusting to changing or uncertain milestones.

A flexible working style: You will have a keenness to work collaboratively, shaping ideas as a team, whilst having the ability to work autonomously, managing your own time and resource, as well as helping manage junior assistant roles who will be supporting you in your efforts.

Role specifics:

  • Permanent, full-time position (although a willingness to discuss 3 or 4 day working weeks for the right candidate).
  • Salary £45,000 - £55,000 pa (based on experience).
  • Tailored benefits package on completion of 6 months probationary period.
  • 25 days paid holiday.
  • Start date March 2023.
  • Hybrid WFH / Office balance.
  • Annual personal training / professional development budget of £750 available to all employees.
