Job Description

3+ days per week · Up to full-time · Start mid-January · London-based

The role:

We’re looking for a senior-level brand strategist who doesn’t just ‘do’ strategy, but lives it. Someone who sees brands not just as visual systems, but as social agents operating across streets, screens and shared spaces.

At The Ready House, strategy is the connective tissue that shapes our work across retail, hospitality, civic and commercial place-based projects. You’ll be working on naming, messaging, brand frameworks, tone of voice, campaign narratives and consumer activations for a wide range of clients — from BTR schemes and shopping centres to cultural venues and global platforms.

This isn’t a pure oversight role. You’ll be thinking, writing and shaping work yourself, while leading the strategic direction and acting as a brand guardian. You’ll also support junior and mid-weight strategists through light line management, feedback and day-to-day guidance.

We’re strategic, but we roll our sleeves up. Strategy doesn’t live in a deck here, it shows up in the work. We like people with opinions, and the confidence to back them up.

What you’ll do

  • Lead brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and narrative development across projects
  • Own the strategic direction of accounts, evolving brand foundations over time
  • Translate brand strategy into campaign-ready ideas, editorial themes and activation routes
  • Drive place-based thinking: embedding cultural relevance, local insight and strategic storytelling into spatial and digital contexts
  • Collaborate with design, content and production to make sure strategy lands across all touch points
  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring consistency of tone, story, and visual language
  • Provide light line management to junior and mid-weight strategists, supporting their development and shaping quality
  • Build client trust through clarity, confidence and strong POVs in decks, workshops and meetings
  • Contribute to proposals and new business; helping TRH pitch sharp, strategic ideas with cultural intelligence

What we’re looking for

  • Fluent English and right to work in the UK
  • 4–7+ years of brand/strategy agency experience (place or built environment a bonus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication; sharp with tone of voice, storytelling and frameworks
  • Confident leading client relationships and shaping conversations
  • Culturally curious and trend-aware; fluent in emerging behaviour shifts, communities and culture
  • Brand-first thinker; instinctive about tone, storytelling and consistency
  • Strategic and hands-on; can build frameworks and roll up sleeves to shape campaigns and content
  • Opinionated, collaborative and generous with feedback
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines and people
  • Curious and hungry to learn; excited to expand your skillset, explore new formats and grow with TRH

Why this role matters

This is more than a strategy job. It’s a chance to shape a business that’s doubling down on brand, culture and place. You’ll work on placemaking briefs with landlords and developers, brand fashion spaces, social platforms and high streets, and help build TRH V2 — more strategic, place-led and commercially sharp than ever.
