THE LINE is looking for an Operations Manager (Maternity Cover) to join us in our studio in East London!

Role: Operations Manager

Contract Type : 11 Month Fixed Term Maternity Cover

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Location: Hybrid / London, UK (3 days per week minimum at the studio)

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the studio’s day-to-day operations, leading key functions across HR, IT, facilities, and employee experience. You will act as a central communication hub between leadership and staff, maintaining team morale while supporting strategic and operational goals.

Manage and support the Studio Coordinator, overseeing day-to-day tasks, role development, and workload support.

Oversee IT infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to:

  • Daily troubleshooting support (e.g., onboarding, equipment and technical issues)
  • Server and data storage management
  • IT security, risk and compliance
  • Software and license management

Manage the allocation of resources, including equipment and facilities, to support project requirements. Approve and oversee procurement of hardware and software across departments

Collaborate with production and department leads to optimise workflows, remove operational bottlenecks, and ensure smooth pipeline integration across departments

Identify potential risks to productivity and develop contingency plans to mitigate them, minimising disruptions to production schedules and project delivery.

Manage studio budgets, closely monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Supervise studio and building maintenance to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.

Manage HR processes and studio policies, including:

  • Supporting parental leavers returning to work
  • Leading performance review processes and maintaining documentation
  • Ensuring consistent and efficient recruitment practices
  • Supporting visa applications and sponsorships for new and existing staff
  • Managing the company’s HRIS and assisting with leave and absence requests

Ensure a smooth transition for new hires and facilitate their integration into the studio's culture and work environment.

Manage external consultants and service providers, ensuring alignment with internal processes and performance standards.

Organise and support staff events, team celebrations, life events, client visits, and wrap parties.
