Logistics & Operations Lead
The Role
We are seeking a commercially minded Logistics & Operations Lead to own and scale our logistics and operations function.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving efficient global logistics, managing budgets, and ensuring seamless delivery across relevant projects from kickoff through to final client delivery. You will oversee end-to-end operations across Europe and NA (North America), with significant focus on export flows from APAC (Asia-Pacific). Additional exposure to LATAM (Latin America) is advantageous.
You will manage 3PL partners, control freight and duty spend, and serve as the key operational contact for clients where logistics is a critical component of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Scale
• Lead and optimise the logistics function to support business growth.
• Implement streamlined processes that improve efficiency, visibility, and margin.
• Own logistics KPIs and drive continuous improvement across freight, warehousing, distribution, and fulfilment.
• Partner cross-functionally to align operational execution with commercial objectives.
Global Logistics Management
• Oversee high-volume international shipments across sea, air, road, and rail.
• Manage primary trade lanes across EMEA and NA, including export coordination from APAC.
• Manage the full shipment lifecycle — booking, tracking, customs clearance, and final delivery.
• Lead and manage 3PL providers to ensure service performance and cost efficiency.
• Optimise fulfilment costs and delivery timelines at the tail end of projects to ensure efficient, margin-protective final distribution.
Budget & Cost Control
• Own regional logistics budgets, including freight, duty, VAT, warehousing, and fulfilment.
• Negotiate contracts and review freight quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Protect margins by monitoring freight invoices and identifying cost-saving opportunities across shipping and final-mile delivery.
Client & Compliance
• Act as the operational lead for clients on logistics-heavy projects.
• Develop and manage multi-region shipment timelines, communicating risks and updates clearly.
• Ensure full compliance with international shipping regulations, including food, liquids, and dangerous goods.
• Oversee accurate customs documentation, HS Code and tariff classifications.
Experience & Skills
• 5+ years in logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
• Proven experience managing global freight operations across EMEA and NA, including APAC export flows.
• Strong commercial acumen with direct budget ownership.
• Experience overseeing fulfilment and final-mile delivery optimisation.
• Deep understanding of international shipping and customs compliance.
• Excellent organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Calm, proactive, and solutions-focused under pressure.
