Video Content Creator
Job Description
We’re looking for a video content creator who actually understands what makes people tick. You’ll be part of our in-house content team, crafting performance-led videos that inspire action, whether that’s falling in love with clean tech, switching energy suppliers, or rethinking home heating.
This isn’t a factory-line editing gig. You’ll help shape stories from the ground up: scripting, shooting, editing, testing, and iterating. You’ll have access to our own studio, an exceptional creative team, and the freedom to push boundaries with your ideas.
You’ll focus primarily on paid social and digital campaigns, but this is a generalist-friendly role, expect to also contribute to product launches, customer stories, and scroll-stopping organic content.
We’re after someone fast, versatile, and obsessed with making things work, not just pretty pictures.
What you'll need:
- Filming: Shoot engaging video content for various ad and social platforms with a focus on customer love and performance.
- Editing: Edit raw footage into high-quality videos that fit our brand and mission and feel native to the platform and desired audience
- Own Projects: Take a loose brief and run with it, from creative concept and scriptwriting, to customer interviews, production and post.
- Creative Input: Collaborate with the digital and content teams to conceptualise and execute compelling visual stories, from initial concept through to final output.
- Close Collaboration: Work closely with designers, marketers and copywriters to deliver a consistent message and help us reach net zero faster than anyone expects.
- Optimise for Performance: Tailor content for different platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Meta ads) and help the team test, learn and improve.
- Stay Sharp: Keep on top of trends, tools (including AI), formats and behaviours, especially across paid social.
- Guard Control: Make sure every video is on-message and ready to perform.
- Great on-camera presence is a bonus but if you shine more behind the camera, that’s fine too!
What you'll do:
- Previous experience as a videographer. We care about people who are skilled and passionate about the mission. If you can demonstrate this we care less about where you are in your career.
- Previous experience shooting and editing content for multiple social and ad platforms.
- Understanding of camera operation, lighting setups, and sound recording techniques.
- Experience with motion graphics is a plus.
- Has an instinct for influence and a knack for human psychology, persuasion, and storytelling that moves people to act.
- A solid understanding of different video formats, aspect ratios, and the nuances of ad platform performance.
- Deep understanding of social media and how users interact with content (organic and paid) across various different social platforms
- A creative mindset that can bring new ideas and test multiple hypotheses simultaneously.
