Mid-weight/Senior Designer
Job Description
Atelier Dyakova is an award-winning visual communication agency. The studio creates brand identities, publications, packaging, and spatial and digital design for forward-thinking brands and international cultural clients. Our approach is firmly rooted in conceptual and typographic experimentation developed through research with attention to tactile details.
We are looking for a Mid-weight/Senior Designer to join our small team. This role focuses on producing publications for museums and galleries, brand identities, and websites for creative brands, working closely with Sonya, our studio manager, and two designers.
Roles & Responsibilities
— Develop research-based intelligent design solutions for digital, printing, and 2D motion design.
— Act as a creative design lead on projects.
— Prepare and confidently deliver creative presentations.
— Art direction and collaboration; communicate ideas and designs both to clients and within the team; be able to discuss and critique your own and team members’ work
— Act as key client contact on projects, managing schedules, production, and timely delivery.
— Collaborate with the team and manage interns from time to time.
Skills & Experience
— Degree in Graphic Design (BA or equivalent) or higher (MA).
— 5+ years experience in a graphic design role within a creative studio, managing projects from start to finish.
— Strong knowledge of typography, brand identity, print, editorial design, web, and social media. Skills and an interest in animated type.
— Ability to design, research, and accurately create artwork files for production.
— Advanced technical skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator are a must, while knowledge of After Effects/Premiere, Figma and Glyphs is a bonus.
— Ability to use MS Office, Pages, Keynote.
— Ability to lead projects, from concept to completion, with responsibility for their delivery.
— Ability to interpret briefs correctly and develop designs consistently, creatively, and appropriately.
— Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple workflows, keep to budgets and keep cool under pressure.
This is a four-day-a-week position to start at the end of October, and it is based in person at our studio in Deptford, London. The salary is based on a daily rate to be discussed with the applicant and is dependent upon experience.
