E-Commerce Assistant

Happiness has many forms and new stationery is one of them. We are looking for new people to join the growing Papersmiths e-commerce team in Brighton.

Our e-commerce HQ is on the upper floors of our beautiful stationery shop in Brighton's iconic North Laine, a two minute walk from the main station and opposite the coffee gods Pelicano.

We're looking for new people to join us from the start of October until the end of January.

At Papersmiths we're a bunch of very friendly, knowledgeable, passionate people, all with an outside interest in creation of some kind, from knitting to illustration to weaving. Everyone brings great chat to the team because they’re genuinely excited about creativity and probably a little bit obsessed with stationery. So what are we looking for? We like working with people who are efficient and who get things done to a high standard. We're a small business so we all chip in with everything that goes on. We adore people who will bring passion for our products, initiative, problem-solving skills and positivity.

A day in our online team involves picking and meticulously wrapping our orders, handwriting notes, conducting stock checks, managing PR requests, processing incoming deliveries, keeping our workspace clean and tidy and looking after customer service queries via email and telephone. If you have experience of creating content for social media, this is a bonus and please do tell us more about that in your covering letter.

We have full-time and part-time roles available starting in October and November. We also have the option to start part-time in October and take on more hours in November and December. You'll need to be available to work during the week running up to Christmas and the week following it. Pay is £9 per hour.

Shifts are mainly on weekdays but weekend flexibility is helpful, especially during the festive season.

Being based at our Brighton HQ, you'll work closely alongside our store team, helping them with their stock requirements as we hit the Christmas rush. This could involve spending a bit of time on the shop floor, where we're super proud of our high levels of customer care. Everyone who comes into the store gets a genuinely warm welcome with a smile and a hello.
