Midweight Project Manager (Maternity cover)

Commission is an agile creative brand service based in South East London. Since 2013 our studio has established itself as specialists in visual identity creation, development, and reinvention. We predominantly work across the fashion and luxury industries for some of the most elite brands in the world, both established and emerging. Our designs are realised across print, packaging, editorial, advertising, and digital media. Thoughtfulness and care are at the heart of our approach. Craft and fidelity are the hallmarks of our output.
We are a highly creative and dedicated full-time team of 11 working from our beautiful new studio in Peckham. Our working process is organised, yet organic and responsive. We work with our clients, as much as for them.
We are looking for a sharp, ambitious, focused, Project Manager to join the team during a maternity cover period. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, sharing responsibilities and overseeing studio projects, whilst also reporting directly to the co-founders.
Role will include tasks such as:
- Managing and overseeing projects of all sizes
- Defining project scopes, creating timelines and schedules, allocating resources based on studio capacity, and managing project budgets
- Maintaining timelines and priorities on projects
- Delegation of design tasks and briefing team
- Project and fee proposal writing
- Studio resource planning including weekly planning meetings with management team
- Liaising with production partners and web developers for quotations and managing / overseeing production schedules
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring their satisfaction
- Day to day studio management / administrative tasks eg. accounts + invoices, studio calendar and meetings, other ad hoc tasks to keep studio running efficiently
Essential for role:
- 3+ years project management experience within a design environment
- Passionate about graphic design and branding
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite advantageous, particularly InDesign
- Good understanding of Xero accounting software advantageous
- Excellent spoken and written communication
- Expert level of Google Sheets / Google Drive
- Not afraid to step in and help in other areas of the studio
- Pre-emptive problem solver (understanding practicalities in advance)
- Flexible, motivated and driven
- Intelligent, opinionated, resourceful
- Ability to clearly and passionately communicate and present your ideas
- A true team player with a positive and proactive attitude
What we offer:
- Nest pension scheme (after 3 months)
- 9.30am–6pm working day, Monday–Friday
- Flexible working hours (8.30am–5pm) if needed for appointments or travel (after 3 months)
- Hybrid working at our discretion, 1–2 days WFH (after 3 months)
- 20 days holiday + UK bank holidays
- Additional closure between Christmas and New Year
