Job Description

Come and help the projects & culture run beautifully at Lovers.

About Lovers

Lovers is a creative supergroup built to help brands sing. We help brands define and express themselves, who they are and what they offer, confidently and creatively. Our work is what happens when super-talented, motivated people work together on projects they care about. Our output is ultimately about identity, message and feeling, with a twin emphasis on great ideas and great craft. We work with household names like Oxfam, Burt’s Bees, Penguin Books, Greenpeace and Nike, as well as exciting challengers like Thriva and Native Instruments. We’re a certified B Corp and committed to using business as a force for good.

The Role

We’re looking for a kind, clever organiser-communicator to join our full-time team as Creative Producer. This role is about being our chief navigator in projects day-to-day: understanding, planning, scheduling, budgeting and stewarding brilliant workflows and outcomes from start to finish, all the while maintaining a strong appreciation for our clients’ worlds, challenges and priorities.

You’ll work right at the heart of our team, driving projects forwards and acting as a key spokesperson. Working closely with your immediate colleagues, our wider supergroup of collaborators and our varied clients, your main duty will be to keep everyone feeling clear, oriented and happy about how things are progressing. Relationship-building is absolutely key to this, skillfully building trust, showing you can grasp situations and lighting the path forwards.

You’ll be nurtured to grow as a confident, articulate project leader, choreographing collaborations and managing different types of projects, including brand positioning, visual identity, messaging & tone of voice, campaigns & communications. Sometimes this will feel like precision-engineering, such as shaping a new brand over months. Other times it will feel faster-paced, such as creating an ad campaign to a deadline. You’ll always be supported by our experienced production director, Lisa and creative director, Alex – friendly, caring people who want you to succeed.

This is a special invitation for an ambitious person who wants to grow their creative leadership skills as part of a hardworking team, far beyond past experience. You’ll be shown the inner workings and methodology of our model and business, and asked to help propel Lovers bravely forwards. Beyond client projects, you’ll contribute to our culture, making sure we’re being the best version of ourselves month-to-month. This will include managing our profile and online presence, recruiting collaborators into our supergroup, and upholding the Lovers spirit. Above all, you’ll hone your collaborative powers.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s a list of specific things you’ll need to perform well in this role:

  • Positive, constructive outlook. We use this every single day.
  • Determination. We work hard and go home, usually on time.
  • Perceptiveness. Noticing things, more keenly than most.
  • Foresight. Thinking ahead to help projects run smoothly.
  • Interrogating briefs. Digesting and unpacking challenges.
  • Planning projects. Forming ideas about how you want projects to run.
  • Identifying collaborators. Figuring out who to bring on board.
  • Brilliant briefing. Instructing your colleagues clearly and fairly.
  • Bringing the best out of people. Help people do their best work.
  • Building proposals. Designing and writing killer presentations.
  • Communicating. Speaking and writing warmly and clearly.
  • Professionalism. Being on point, on time, on budget.
  • Pro-active Instinct. We’re often inventing and improvising.
  • Cultural awareness. We’re sensitive to the world around us.
  • Strategic interest. Strategy is something that interests you.

Here are some strands of experience you’ll need to draw and build upon:

  • Organising project work. You’ve helped run projects on time, on budget.
  • Briefing collaborators. You’ve instructed and involved people in your work before.
  • Thinking for yourself. You’ve got some confidence as a self-starter.
  • Explaining clearly. You’ve developed a knack for bringing clarity to situations.
  • Multidisciplinary working. You’ve at least dipped your toe beyond a single discipline.
  • Persuading people. You’ve had experience making people feel convinced by you.
  • Navigating feedback. You can listen carefully, negotiating the best path forwards.
  • Commissioning assets. For example: design, photography, illustrations, sound, film.

About You

We’ve deliberately written this job description to make sure it’s not asking you to ‘be’ any particular type of person, so if you feel you could do the job (or learn to do it), then please consider applying. Here are some traits you might recognise in yourself:

What really gets you out of bed in the morning is a natural excitement to get on with the creative projects you’re working on, so you can progress them to specialness. You care deeply about how things look, sound and feel. You’re a sensitive noticer of all kinds of details in fact.

You’re excited to involve others in your projects and you like making new friends. You’re a thoughtful person who puts effort into collaborating fairly and intelligently with those around you, something you want to get better and better at. You enjoy trying to achieve new things and breaking new ground.

You’ve focused on managing projects for a while and you’re ready to take that skillset to the next level. You want to be somewhere you can be supported to achieve amazing results for amazing clients. You’d also love to help a great company grow, learning how to help a creative business blossom. You’re ready to be challenged, and to contribute meaningfully.

If a visual portfolio is not representative of your experience, please provide written descriptions for two projects you worked on, detailing the challenge, the role you played and the outcomes.

We are an equal opportunities employer, and we’re determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, or race, or any other protected characteristic.
