About Folio:
Folio is one of the world’s longest established illustration agencies. It represents a diverse range of world-class illustrators and works with clients of all levels, around the world.
We are a small, close team working to promote our illustrators and deal with client requests. We are proud of the professionalism that we offer to clients and the relationships we have with our artists. Our goal is to find a promising applicant with a shared passion for our values who shows a desire to learn and develop.
We are looking for an illustration agent (not someone to work as an illustrator) who can provide support with marketing as well as liaising with clients and illustrators to oversee client commissions.
Role:
- Complete various administrative tasks, including resizing images using Photoshop and regular updates to artists’ portfolios on our website and other platforms
- Contribute to Folio’s social media output, direct marketing and other promotional activities
- Contribute to Folio’s business development strategy, including creating basic pitch decks/presentations, researching potential clients and seeking out opportunities for our artists
- Monitor the shared inbox and handle incoming work enquiries efficiently
- Project manage commissions for our artists, including contract negotiation, quoting and invoicing, with support from the other agents
- Build relationships with both artists and clients
- Contribute to artist portfolio reviews
- Support the agents to develop new relationships in the industry through face to face and virtual meetings
Essential Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and good at prioritising tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
- Confident Mac user
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Adobe design software (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), spreadsheets, Dropbox and Pipedrive
- Experience in negotiation
- An understanding of art licensing and copyright
- Experience in marketing, social media or business development
We are looking for:
- An independent, proactive and motivated candidate who can work effectively from home but is willing to travel to London frequently if required
- Someone with a willingness to learn on the job from Folio’s agents about skills and processes relating to negotiating, quoting and invoicing
- Someone passionate about the creative scene, with an interest in the illustration industry and an eye for great artwork
- Someone with the ambition to develop their own skills and bring new ideas to the team
- Someone highly organised, that can handle a high volume of work effectively but who will ask for help when it is needed
- Someone who can work comfortably in an informal professional environment
- Someone that takes pride in their work and can remain calm under pressure
- Experience within the industry is preferred but not essential
