Freelance Research Assistant

We're Luminance Insight, an independent cultural qualitative insight consultancy, and we're looking for a remote research assistant for 2 days a week. We partner with other independents to help clients understand their audiences better.

What we need help with:

• Writing up a study on lockdown behaviours
• Note-taking in qualitative interviews
• Analysing insights
• Contributing to client-facing outputs
• Moderating research sessions
• Proof-reading

Essential skills:

• At least 1 year's experience of qualitative research experience
• Curiosity and empathy (demonstrated by work or lived experience with people from different walks of life)
• Clear communication
• The ability to find a story within data
• Collaboration (especially digital)
• Independent working
• Reliability and proactivity

Extra skills/attributes:

• Either conversational, fluent or native understanding of a language or dialect spoken outside of Europe would be desirable. Some of our projects involve working closely with different communities so this would allow us to quickly identify insightful nuances
• Quantitative fieldwork skills (scripting, producing cross-tabs, etc) is a plus
• Skills developed from using other tools, systems or processes - we’re always open to exploring new ways to work!

Key info:

• Part time - 2 days a week
• Rate: 200 p/d
• Length: 1 month, with the possibility to extend
• Location: remote (if based in/travelling to London, there are opportunities to work together in-person)
• Working hours: flexible, but there will be some core hours on Tuesdays to enable collaboration (TBC in interview)
