Newspaper Club is looking for an organised and enthusiastic digital product manager to help take the business to the next level.

This is a central role, working across the business and with external partners to ensure that Newspaper Club’s website and other digital channels continue to serve a wide range of customers worldwide, and are continually improved.

Role description

Product management

  • Work with the Newspaper Club team and external partners to develop our product roadmap
  • Scope out, prioritise and manage developments, to time and budget
  • Act as the main point of contact between the business and its external tech partners
  • Report on activity to the wider team, board and other stakeholders in a clear and succinct way
  • Manage contracts and software licences

Website management

  • Manage and continually improve Newspaper Club’s website and e-commerce platform
  • Interpret analytics and user feedback to drive improvements to the user experience
  • Commission attractive, usable design and UX work
  • Manage the site’s information architecture and user journeys, keeping them organised and simple
  • Ensure that our website, emails and other digital channels are usable and accessible for all, across multiple devices
  • Minimise the environmental implications and carbon footprint of Newspaper Club’s digital services

Support for marketing

  • Work with our Brand Manager to ensure the website reflects Newspaper Club’s brand and tone of voice
  • Work with our marketing team and external partners to oversee performance of paid advertising and social media campaigns
  • Manage Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel and others as required

GDPR

  • Manage Newspaper Club’s data strategy
  • Ensure Newspaper Club’s compliance with GDPR

About the role

  • Hours – ideally this is a full-time position (35 hours per week, Monday-Friday), but we would like to hear from anyone who can work 25+ hours over at least 4 days per week - hours are flexible
  • Salary – £40,000-£45,000 + profit share bonus, depending on experience
  • Location – UK-based, remote / Glasgow city centre
  • Type of contract - permanent
  • Closing date - 5pm, Friday 21 April 2023

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a product management role
  • Experience of agile working and software like Jira or Trello
  • An understanding of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Crazy Egg and other web management tools
  • Initiative – an organised self-starter who is able to prioritise
  • A desire to learn new things and adapt to changing situations
  • The ability to work well in a small, interdisciplinary team, both remotely and in person
  • Excellent communication skills - friendly, in person and online
  • An eye for improvements and opportunities for change who can work with the team to deliver solutions
