Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced and capable Senior Project Manager / Producer to join our friendy team to keep us on our toes, our client’s generally delighted and our digital + print projects on track.

Our expectation is that it will be an interesting and varied role and so it may suit someone with a background in project management, studio management and/or that of a Producer.

We’re a studio of 8 and we work on a mix of digital or print projects with things like branding, exhibitions and the like thrown in from time to time. Our clients are typically either non-profit, cultural, public institutions and/or purpose-led businesses so the projects we work on often end up achieving something important and worthwhile.

Experience in digital project management is going to be a must but with the promise of lots of variety and the odd challenge to keep things interesting. Although we’re a boutique studio, we’re quite prolific and so previous experience in a busy environment like a studio or agency will serve you well.

We’re interested in someone who will help to keep Effusion running like a well oiled machine – so you’ll be process-driven, a lover of fine details and where you think we can improve the way we do things, you’ll be encouraged to take the lead in improving them.

We’re London-based and currently work together in the studio a couple of days a week, but having seen how well remote working can work we’re open to the idea that you might be elsewhere in the UK or further afield. We're open to the idea that this role could be undertaken on a 3 or 4 day a week basis if the job looks like a perfect fit but you have other responsibilities that might otherwise preclude a full-tie role. More generally we're also interested in the best ways that we can balance work + life and so we're currently experimenting with different versions of a 9 day fornight or 4 day week.

About us

We've been established for 20 years working mostly with for-purpose organisations. A typical client for us will be a charity, social enterprise, public institution or a business wanting to talk about something that matters – our work will typically help our clients to impact their work, people, society or the world and climate for the better.

We’re a team of eight friendly people – so we’re a boutique studio, but some of our largest clients have considerable reach with our work / impact reaching far + wide both nationally and internationally.

We're East London based in a nice spot just off Brick Lane.

You’ll need to have:

  • Excellent problem solving skills with a proactive attitude
  • Excellent client management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience managing digital projects and interacting with developers (who as we know don’t always speak the same language).
  • Understanding of print production and finishing processes
  • At least 7 years experience as a project manager
  • Track record of driving the delivery of complex web and print projects
  • Strong evidence of being able to multi-task – running multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong background in project management methodologies and tools (Prince2 or similar)
  • Strong administrative skills – extensive experience working with project software especially for planning, resource scheduling etc
  • Experience in managing a studio would be ideal but not necessary

Would be nice to have:

  • Good sense of humour
  • Experience in working with and managing a team
  • Confidence and the ability to pitch and present to clients/potential clients
  • Experience with content management systems

What we’re offering:

  • A full-time or part-time position depending on the person & experience
  • A supportive, stimulating and nurturing environment - a place where you can thrive
  • A negotiable salary of up to £56k
  • 32 days holiday
  • Gym/cinema/museum membership
  • Pension scheme
  • Opportunity to grow with us - access to training and further qualifications
