Job Description

Designers are at the heart of DesignStudio. As a Senior Designer, you will be a dedicated design lead for projects, supporting the Design Directors and Creative Directors to shape the design, guide the team and unlock each project's creative potential.

We expect you to be the driver of the creative output. A confident storyteller and a stellar designer. You will require flexibility and willingness to apply design-thinking across all stages of the creative process; research, strategy, expression and implementation. You'll be working with teams and clients to develop design ideas and discover new opportunities.

Your responsibilities

Generating interesting creative work with strong conceptual and strategic foundations.

Pursuing and maintaining an exceptional level of craft with the highest design standards and attention to detail.

Leading the creative output of projects through each stage and overseeing design work to ensure the creative brief is fully explored.

Coordinating design delivery across the project. Supporting the Design Directors and Creative directors to ensure that work gets delivered on time to a high standard.

Managing and distributing work within the team and ensuring each team member is being utilized effectively.

Effectively distilling and communicating direction to the team after client feedback or after internal design review.

Creating high quality presentations of creative work for internal and external use.

Inspiring other designers through creativity, action and mentorship.

Management of external suppliers to ensure they deliver to a high standard

Going on immersion trips with design teams to collect primary research for projects, wherever clients may be.

Collaborating with client teams to build a positive working relationship.

Key skills and qualifications

Broad experience

Formal training or relevant experience in the discipline with proven skills and competencies. Must have a passion for design and demonstrable ability to execute remarkable work. Most likely you’ll have at least 5 years of industry experience.

Excellent varied portfolio

Work should demonstrate concept-driven design and superior execution. Work should show experimentation, versatility, system thinking and energy. Significant brand identity and digital projects within the industry. You should have worked across both print and digital executions from start to finish.

People skills

Comfortable working as a team and confident to take part in interviews, workshops and interactions with clients.

Excellent presenter

Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to put an attractive and compelling presentation together and present it.

Broad tool-kit

High level of skill in design programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma). An understanding of peripheral design processes (i.e. art direction and film/stills production, print production).

Bonus tool-kit

Experience in 3D, animation, coding and interaction design a bonus.
