We are looking for an experienced graphic designer to join our team!

This is not a type design position.
The role
As a member of the graphic design team, you will be responsible for:
• Developing and delivering original campaigns for each new typeface release, including minisites (GT Mechanik, GT Canon), books, specimens, and other materials
• Creating original artwork for our website, newsletters, social media, etc.
• Contributing to the ongoing upkeep of our website
• Working on special projects
• Expanding and maintaining the Grilli Type visual language and design system
Who you are
We're looking for someone with outstanding graphic design skills with particular proficiency in typography and animation. You are very comfortable building visual worlds through strong conceptual thinking and image-making; you’re passionate about what you do, and it shows; and you have a keen sense of current/historical design and cultural context.
This is a full-time position, from Monday to Thursday.
We are a globally distributed team, but for this role, only candidates in New York City or Berlin will be considered.
You will be provided a desk in our studio spaces to work from with other team members and are expected to work from the office multiple days a week.
We're looking for…
• A portfolio of projects demonstrating:
- Excellent typography skills
- Animation production
- Ability to develop a concept and executed it across many touch points
• Your ability to show us that you are
- Able to share your work (written or in presentation) in a convincing and easily understandable manner and receive feedback graciously
- Organized, thorough, and never misses a deadline
- Good at time management and prioritization
- Used to taking initiative and seeing what needs to be done before being asked
- Highly competent with your tools and work efficiently
• Three or more years of graphic design industry experience
• Fluent English. The *lingua franca* in our studio is English; strong English skills are required in order to efficiently present and discuss work together.
• Lives, or is able to legally live and work, in either Berlin or New York City (and willing to relocate)
Also nice to have…
• You’ve started your own side projects (Grilli Type started as one!)
• Image-making (illustration, etc.)
• Web and UX design
• Systems design and advance functionality of Figma
