Job Description

Hybrid (London)

£40,000 to £50,000, plus up to £5,100 bonus each year

Apply before 11pm on Sunday 12 October

Quietroom is an insight-led communications consultancy. We’re here to make pensions, investment and insurance accessible to the people who need them. Our clients include pension schemes and providers, as well as asset managers, insurers and advisers.

What you’ll do

As a senior content designer at Quietroom, you will:

  • identify the needs of clients and end users
  • map user journeys
  • create and improve content using research, analytics and other information
  • review your colleagues’ content and help them improve it
  • run writing and strategy workshops for clients

We work with a broad range of clients. This means there is a mix of digital and print projects. On any day, you could be working on content such as websites, online tools, videos and newsletters.

You can work from home or at our office on High Holborn as it suits you. But you must be available for in-person client meetings, and company away days every 3 months.

Who you are

You might be an established content designer or recently transitioned from copywriting or journalism. What matters most is that you base content decisions on evidence and can write clearly and simply about complicated subjects. You’ll also need to be confident safeguarding high-quality content through the review process, winning over stakeholders as you do it.

We're interested in people who can:

  • make complex products and services easy to understand
  • use analytics, user feedback and research to make decisions about content
  • work with legal and compliance folk to understand their perspective
  • You don’t have to know lots about financial services, but you do have to be willing to develop an interest in our clients and their world.

What we offer

As well as your salary and profit share bonus you’ll get:

  • matched pension contributions of up to 6% once you’ve been with us for 6 months
  • 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure – this increases to 27 days after 5 years
  • employee-assistance programme, for you and your family
  • regular team socials

How to apply

Please send an email to jobs@quietroom.co.uk with:

  • your CV
  • a professional writing sample
  • a cover letter explaining why we’d be a good fit for each other

If you want to use AI tools to help you apply, please read our guidance first.

What happens next

We’ll hold in-person interviews at our office towards the end of October. You’ll meet our lead consultants, Julia and Cath.

If you’re successful, we'll invite you to work on a pretend project for 90 minutes with our content director, Russ. We'll do this online and pay you for prep time. We then hope to make a decision by mid November.

We know that the jobs market is rough right now. And too often, companies put candidates through processes that are time-consuming and demoralising. Whether you end up working with us or not, we want you to have a good experience with our business. That’s why we promise to:

  • acknowledge your application
  • tell you quickly if your application hasn't been successful
  • give you detailed feedback if we interview you – and invite you to reciprocate
