Independent Digital Design Director — Editorial & Typographic Focus

What we envision is a clear, enduring visual expression that reflects the judgement and discretion we already operate with and that supports a more disciplined, low-maintenance digital presence.

This is a website-led visual engagement, not a brand-system or rebranding project.

The engagement focuses on a new wordmark and a visual overhaul of our existing website. The objective is to define a coherent visual direction of typography, colour, layout, and motion that anchors our digital presence with greater hierarchy, clarity, and permanence. The website should evolve toward a more editorial, purpose-led structure: restrained, conceptually grounded, and designed to endure without constant redesign or upkeep.

The role

• Lead a visual reskin of an existing website (no backend rebuild)
• Refine typographic system, colour palette, spacing, hierarchy, and rhythm
• Introduce understated motion as an atmospheric system, replacing heavy video
• Consolidate pages and improve editorial clarity
• Work closely with an existing developer on implementation

• Have strong editorial and typographic sensibility
• Think in hierarchy, spacing, rhythm, and restraint
• Are comfortable designing with space, materiality, and calm confidence
• Understand how subtle motion can replace overt media
• Work independently and judgement-led
• Are confident collaborating closely with a developer

We are open to designers who may not carry a formal “Director” title, but who operate with equivalent judgement, independence, and restraint.
