Job Description

Hell Yeah!

Ambitious midweight / Senior Strategist

Hello, we are Hell Yeah! a creative company on a mission to become the world’s most positive advertising agency. We look to make effective work, with integrity for challenger brands that give a damn. We use positivity as our guiding principle for brands that want to make money and sleep soundly at night.

This role is best suited for either a senior strategist or an ambitious midweight looking to grow into the senior role, quick. We are a young agency (1.5 years old) with grand ambitions, and we’re looking for someone to lead the day-to-day strategy, who is hungry to get stuck in and help us grow from start-up to one of the leading independent agencies in London.

HELL YEAH! is at the tipping point. We have an exciting roster of challenger brands that we work with and we’re now starting to get interest from household names.

The strategist we hire will be the lead strategist, with support from our head of strategy who works with us 2.5 days a week. You’ll be taking over from our first ever strategist, who has gone someway to implementing an excellent strategic process and improving our creative output tenfold. We want our next hire to take us to the next level, to help us win big pitches, solve big problems and generally be a good soul to work with.

If all of this sounds like something you can get behind, then you’re in the right place.

Day-to-day

  • Leads briefing calls with clients, asking relevant questions to unpick what can sometimes be a poorly written client brief.
  • Runs workshop/ discovery sessions with new clients
  • Writes mighty fine creative briefs and runs fun and engaging briefing sessions with creatives.
  • Develops exciting and insightful strategic ‘ways in’ for our creative team to explore.
  • Provides constructive creative feedback, ensuring all work is on brief, and is pushed as far as it can go.
  • Creates and delivers beautifully flowing and compelling presentations for selling in strategies and winning new business with pitches.
  • Is plugged into culture and has their finger on the pulse, sending around inspiring tid bits to the rest of the team.
  • Writes bi-monthly thought pieces on all things strat/challenger brands.

Experience

  • 4+ years agency experience, having led strategies for various brands.
  • Have worked on some top notch, multi-channel campaigns.
  • Have a brilliant understanding of the strategic process and be able to implement this into the way we work.
  • You will have an understanding of campaign evaluation. Setting correct KPIs to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • You will have experience with qual and quant research, having run focus groups and built surveys to gather insights.
  • You will have pitch experience and a taste for strategic sprints.

Bigger picture

  • Help us grow our strategy department, with the view to hire a junior Strategist in the near future
  • Improve our strategic output
  • Help progress our offering, how we talk about ourselves, how we talk to brands
  • Help with growing the business
  • Help with agency marketing. Working with our PR partner to get the HY name out there with regular thought pieces

Personality

You will:

  • Be a curious soul who is always educating the team
  • Be passionate about advertising and want to make excellent work for positive brands
  • Be up for a laugh
  • Be pragmatic, looking for solutions not problems
  • Be confident and lead calls with client

Package

  • London based mixture of office and WFH
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Laptop and all that jazz
  • Money each year for courses
  • Salary dependent on experience
  • Private health care

Hopefully this job description doesn’t come across as daunting, but exciting! We are a bunch of nice folk who are looking for someone bloomin’ brilliant for this role.

Thanks,

Hell Yeah!
