Job Description

About Paradigm Park

Paradigm Park is a creative studio exploring how design can help us live and imagine differently. Working across physical and digital contexts, we use participatory art and design to build systems of beauty and care—brands, stories, spaces, and experiences that nurture health, wellbeing, and collective meaning.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Digital Experience Designer who shares our belief that digital environments should serve humanity, not capture attention. This role is ideal for a designer fluent across web, brand, and digital product design, and who is curious about how digital experiences might extend into physical environments, from spatial storytelling to interactive installations.

This position will begin as a three-month contract-to-hire, structured as a period of mutual exploration and alignment. During this time, we’ll collaborate closely to assess fit across creative approach, working style, and shared values—with the intention to transition into a full-time role if it’s a “yes” on both sides.

You’ll work directly with our Founder and Creative Director, Rachel Brandenberger, helping to shape Paradigm Park’s digital practice, design systems, and creative culture. This role is remote, with opportunities for in-person collaboration if based in NYC.

The Work We Do

Our practice operates at the intersection of design and wellbeing. While our design capabilities span disciplines, our domain focus is specific: we work where personal health, community connection, and environmental context meet. We study the upstream determinants of health, both visible and invisible, and design interventions that reshape how people access care, experience space, and connect with one another.

Because of this focus, our work spans client collaborations and in-house experimental projects. You’ll have opportunities to contribute to both.

Responsibilities

As our first full-time design hire, you’ll help lay the foundation for Paradigm Park’s digital practice—crafting experiences that honor care, beauty, and interconnection. By joining at this formative stage, you’ll directly shape the studio’s creative culture and help prove that design grounded in wellbeing can also perform socially, financially, and ecologically.

  • Collaborate closely with the Founder/Creative Director to bring client and experimental projects to life across web and digital product design.
  • Own the design and ongoing evolution of the Paradigm Park marketing site.
  • Design and prototype across the full lifecycle of a project—from concept to high fidelity.
  • Translate brand systems into compelling, consistent digital experiences.
  • Explore how digital experiences can extend into physical space (e.g., interactive exhibitions, environmental graphics, or participatory installations).
  • Build in low-code tools (like Framer and Webflow) when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with developers when needed.
  • Document and organize design systems, interactions, and decisions for smooth dialogue, handoff, and implementation.
  • Measure design impact and continuously refine processes and outputs to support project outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

Some qualities we’re looking for in this role are below. We also know careers don’t always follow straight lines—if your path looks different but feels aligned, we’d still love to hear from you.

  • 6–10 years of experience across digital product and web design
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strategic, big-picture thinking and strong attention to detail
  • Curiosity about how digital and physical experiences intersect
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills, including motion/animation
  • Ability to translate brand and conceptual ideas into functional and beautiful digital experiences
  • Experience taking work from concept through production, including developer handoff
  • Clear communication and storytelling abilities
  • Comfort presenting work, facilitating dialogue, and iterating collaboratively
  • Deep fluency in Figma, with advanced prototyping and component-building skills
  • Interest in supporting adjacent design capabilities, including research, strategy, and brand systems

Contract Structure & Path-to-Hire

We value flexibility, trust, and shared purpose. During the contract period, you’ll have autonomy over how and when you work, with open communication and clear deliverables guiding the collaboration.

How to apply

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resume, cover letter, and relevant work samples to rachel@paradigmpark.com.

When you apply, we’d love it if you shared a short reflection on one of the following questions:

  • What is the most beautiful digital or physical experience you’ve encountered, and what made it feel that way to you?
  • What is a moment when you’ve seen design strengthen a sense of connection—between people, or between people and place?
  • If you could reimagine one everyday digital interaction to better support human wellbeing, what would you redesign, and why?

A Note on Equity & Inclusion

Don’t meet every single requirement? Research shows women and people of color are less likely to apply unless they meet every qualification. At Paradigm Park, we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.
