At Octopus we publish books for everyone. We love to enlighten, nourish, entertain and most of all inspire readers and listeners everywhere.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplined team responsible for a wide variety of publishing. You’d be working in a creative and dynamic environment, utilising a wide variety of essential design skills to reach the widest possible readership.

What you’ll be doing:

Working across illustrated and narrative titles the role will include coordinating design work for both frontlist and backlist titles; managing and producing contracts and invoices; and producing sales and marketing material.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll need to be passionate about Illustrated and Non-Fiction books with a desire to create design excellence that enhances our broad list of titles and speaks to our diverse readership.

Skills required:

• Able to deliver high-quality design across a varied range of subject areas, markets and products

• Good organisational and planning skills

• Able to balance creative needs with requirements of deadlines and budgets

• Able to work successfully in a team

• Some knowledge of pre-press and printing procedures

• Expert Mac user with knowledge/experience of relevant software

You’ll need to be:

• Flexible and highly motivated

• Organised

• Commercially aware

• Able to build relationships

• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Able to prioritise and multi-task

• Adaptable in a busy environment
