Position Overview

As the Art Director at Pudgy Penguins, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our brand. You will lead a team of talented artists and designers, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute creative concepts that resonate with our audience. Your creative vision and leadership will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the enchanting world of Pudgy Penguins across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creative Leadership: Provide artistic direction and leadership to the creative team, ensuring that the visual elements consistently align with the brand's tone, style, and messaging.
• Concept Development: Collaborate with the marketing, content, and product teams to develop innovative and engaging visual concepts that bring the Pudgy Penguins universe to life.
• Visual Strategy: Develop and execute the overall visual strategy for Pudgy Penguins, encompassing various mediums such as illustrations, animations, merchandise design, and social media assets.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with graphic designers, illustrators, animators, and other team members to guide and inspire their work, while fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
• Quality Control: Ensure all creative outputs meet high-quality standards and align with the brand's guidelines, maintaining consistency and visual excellence.
• Trend Awareness: Stay current with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies, incorporating fresh ideas into the brand's visuals.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, while adhering to deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Presentation: Present and pitch creative concepts to internal stakeholders, conveying the artistic vision and rationale behind each concept.
• Feedback and Mentorship: Provide constructive feedback to team members to help them grow and develop their skills, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as an Art Director or similar role in a creative agency, entertainment company, or brand.
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing a wide range of creative projects, including illustrations, animations, and visual designs.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.).
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide creative professionals.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• A passion for storytelling, character design, and creating visually compelling narratives.
• Adaptable and open to feedback, with a collaborative and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of current design trends, pop culture, and social media platforms.
• Experience working with cute and character-based aesthetics is a plus.
