Job Description

Junior Designer

Who we are

We are The Collective, the dairy shaker-uppers and just-go-with-your-gut-ers! We are taste revolutionaries, on a mission to create ridiculously tasty, game changing yoghurts, because let’s face it, life’s too short for big-house factory-bland.

A brand started 13 years ago by two foodie chefs in who wanted to change the landscape of yoghurt forever; we are now one of the fastest growing Yoghurt brands in the UK, and have recently joined the Yeo Valley family.

Constantly fighting the good food fight is at the heart of everything we do, whether it be striving to be better for people – through our epic flavours and improving gut health, or towards being better for the planet. It’s safe to say that finding better ways is in our DNA.

So, if you’re passionate about food, striving for better and being part of a fast-paced and exciting challenger brand where you can make a genuine difference… then The Collective could be the place for you!

the role

We are looking for a Junior Designer who will sit within our small but mighty Marketing Team of 6.

• FTC for 12 months (potential for longer)

• Salary, depending on experience

• Reports into the Senior Designer

• London based (in office 1-2 x per week)

responsibilities & what we’re looking for from you

• Acting as a brand guardian, you will ensure that all design work adheres to our brand guidelines and is consistent across multiple touchpoints (including consumer, retailer and internal) – dialling up our role as the ‘dairy shaker uppers’.

• You’ll use creative problem solving to interpret and respond to design briefs from our Product, Sales & Marketing Teams, with support from our Senior Designer.

• You will play an active role in rolling out our refreshed brand guidelines across digital touchpoints (including social, website, retailer listings & email).

• You’ll support with packaging design and art working for print, ensuring our kids and adult portfolios have strong shelf stand out and disrupt vs the rest of the yoghurt category.

• Your role will include creative brainstorming - actively researching and keeping your eyes and ears open for exciting category trends, competitor research and emerging design and consumer insights to inform what The Collective could do next, and how we can evolve our look and feel.

• You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our brand asset library is constantly maintained and updated.

• You will support with creative prep for retailer and internal meetings, creating eye-catching brand presentations/slides, props, and merchandise to knock people’s socks off!

Experience

• You’ll have 1-2 years of creative experience under your belt within a design-based role such as Design/Studio Exec.

• Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) & Powerpoint

• Skilled in bringing creative ideas to life through illustration (drawings, online concepts, mood boards)

• You’re obsessed with the detail and have a sharp eye for branding, layout and type

• An understanding of packaging production (or a passion to learn!)

• You’re an active team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

• You’re not afraid to put your creative recommendations and rationale forward

Desired but not integral:

• Experience or interest in photography & videography

• A knack for motion graphics/animations

• Experience using Figma
