Who we are

Right to Left is a design and brand studio founded by Samar Maakaroun and based in Hackney downs.

We create brands that integrate worlds, cultures, and languages — East to West, local to global, strategy to creative. Female led, multilingual, interdisciplinary and cross generational, we bring our varied perspectives to each brief, and we enjoy digging into the nuance of culture and language.  

We aim to design for a world that is mixed, colourful, open and connected. 

We create brands and digital products, with a heavy typographic component, covering English, Arabic, and Chinese.

We are currently a team of 4 full-timers, with additional freelance support.

We have a flexible work from home policy - 2 days per week at home, 3 in the studio.

Who you are

• You are a designer with a minimum of 5 years experience
• You are a thinker and a doer, who is happy to multitask across projects
• You have at least one brand project in your portfolio that you were involved in from start to finish
• You are comfortable with every stage of the brand process from generating concepts to writing guidelines
• You are humble and kind
• You are happy to share knowledge, contribute to our culture and support our juniors
• No previous management experience required but a desire to lead and grow with us as we grow
• Motion experience or type design experience is an added bonus
