Senior Designer - Digital

DesignStudio has been through remarkable change over the last year or so. We've just relaunched with radical collaboration being a key point of our ethos, we've built new capabilities, stepped into new markets and as part of this, our digital offering gains more momentum with every new project.

Spirit of the role

As a Senior Designer you will be a dedicated design lead for the studio's interactive output, supporting Design Directors and Creative Directors to shape the design, guide the team and unlock each project's creative potential.

Interactive is not an afterthought at DS, we expect you to be the driver of the creative output. A confident storyteller and a stellar designer, working closely with the team from ideation of the brand. You will require flexibility and willingness to apply design-thinking across all stages of the creative process; research, strategy, expression and implementation.

You are passionate about technology and innovation, designing at the cutting edge of what’s possible and embracing emerging platforms in your creative thinking. User challenges drive your decisions, championing UX thinking when solving a client’s challenges. You'll be working with teams and clients to develop design ideas and discover new opportunities.

We’re looking for someone who can

Generate exciting ideas and interesting creative work with strong conceptual and strategic foundations.

Provide a digital perspective and valuable input across all stages of a project; from immersion to implementation.

Pursue and maintain an exceptional level of craft with the highest design standards and attention to detail.

Lead the creative output of projects through each stage and overseeing design work to ensure the creative brief is fully explored.

Create high quality presentations and prototypes for internal and external use. Inspiring other designers through creativity, action and mentorship.

Who you are

Relevant experience in the discipline with proven skills and competencies. Must have a passion for design and demonstrable ability to execute remarkable work. Most likely you’ll have at least 5 years of industry experience. Work should demonstrate a user centric design approach and well crafted execution, showing experimentation, versatility and energy.

Strong people skills; Comfortable working as a team and confident to conduct interviews, workshops and interactions with clients. You should be an excellent presenter with the ability to communicate in a confident and compelling way.

A solid tool-kit demonstrating a high level of skill in design and prototyping programs (Figma, Illustrator, Invision, Principle) alongside an understanding of peripheral design processes (i.e. art direction and film/stills production) are essential. Experience in animation and coding would be a welcome bonus.
