Senior Motion Designer

OVERVIEW:

Chapel is an independent creative agency, specialising in B2B, working with some of the world’s biggest brands.

As Chapel’s Senior Motion Designer, you will lead the development and execution of high-impact motion design projects across diverse formats. You must be able to concept and create original designs that not only communicate our clients’ values, but also align with our ethos of pushing Chapel’s creative limits.

This role calls for a conceptual thinker, a craft-driven designer, and a leader who can both inspire and mentor others while delivering work of the highest creative and technical standard.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the motion design process across projects, from concept through to delivery.
• Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Senior Creatives to shape visual storytelling and motion language across all outputs.
• Develop and present motion concepts, storyboards, and treatments to internal teams and clients.
• Oversee and guide junior and mid-weight motion designers (including freelancers), fostering creative growth and technical excellence.
• Apply advanced motion graphics, animation, and SFX to bring ideas to life across multiple platforms.
• Ensure all deliverables align with brand guidelines, project strategy, and Chapel’s creative ethos.
• Manage timelines and workflows to maintain the highest production standards under tight deadlines.
• Stay ahead of emerging motion trends, technologies, and techniques — bringing fresh innovation to Chapel’s creative output.
• Collaborate across disciplines (design, copy, production, tech) to ensure seamless integration of motion into broader campaigns.
• Contribute to Chapel’s creative evolution by challenging conventions and exploring new visual approaches.

MAIN SKILLS:

• Exceptional motion design and animation skills with a strong portfolio showcasing conceptual and crafted work.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop); experience with 3D or coding (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, composition, and sound design.
• Proven ability to lead projects and teams from ideation to delivery.
• Confident communicator with experience presenting creative ideas internally and externally.
• Highly organized with the ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Deep curiosity for art, culture, and emerging creative movements.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for elevating both your own work and that of the team.
