Job Description

ABOUT US

Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box.

We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company (now owned by Sony) and stage giant dance events. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing.

Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office. There’s great home cooked F&B, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme.

As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team. We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.

ABOUT YOU

As a Designer at Ministry of Sound, you'll work across a blend of fast-paced, high-volume creative output and larger creative projects, confidently switching between quick-turnaround creative requests and more considered brand, campaign and partnership projects from concept through to delivery.

Reporting to the Head of Creative & Brand, you'll design and deliver creative work across the Ministry of Sound Group, including our club, brands, content, campaigns, merchandise and partnerships, translating creative direction into thoughtful, high-quality design and motion across digital, print, social media, presentations, campaign assets and immersive live experiences, from club screens and venue environments to real-world activations.

You'll create strong layouts, typography and visual systems that elevate our brands and tell compelling stories, confidently using simple, polished motion where it enhances the creative. You'll also support concept development through visual research, references, mood boards and design exploration.

You'll prepare artwork and production files to a consistently high standard across both digital and print formats, working collaboratively with creatives, marketers, content producers and stakeholders across the business to bring ideas to life. You'll take ownership of your projects from concept through to delivery, actively seeking feedback and continually developing your creative practice.

We're looking for a designer with solid commercial experience gained within a creative agency, design studio or in-house creative team, who's already operating at, or ready to step into, a midweight role. Above all, we're looking for a brilliant portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking, excellent design skills and a genuine passion for great work.

You'll possess excellent graphic design, layout and typography skills, with strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. You'll be confident creating simple, polished motion graphics that enhance digital and social content, alongside a working knowledge of Figma.

We're looking for someone who's passionate about design, music, nightlife, youth culture and emerging creative trends, with a genuine interest in club culture and creating work that feels culturally relevant and current.

You'll have a basic understanding of, or enthusiasm to learn, TouchDesigner and real-time visual workflows. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you'll bring a curious, proactive and collaborative approach to your work, alongside a forward-thinking mindset and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.

Please note that we can't consider applications without examples of your work.
