Job Description

We're looking for a talented mid or senior level Motion Designer who’s experienced in 2D & 3D to join our growing team in Brighton. We’re seeking someone with a great eye for design and an exceptional flair for expressive animation. The person we need is a strong team player who’s ambitious and keen to develop their craft, as well as support those around them by sharing knowledge and feedback.

The role is majority studio-based with the option of two days per week from home. For the days you’re in, we have a central Brighton office with lots of natural light, standing desks and good coffee! About the role

You’ll be part of the creative team, reporting into our Creative Director and working alongside or under the supervision of our Senior Motion Designer (depending on experience). Working collaboratively with our other motion designers and designer/illustrator, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of motion projects. Sometimes from start to finish as the lead motion designer and sometimes in collaboration with other team members or freelancers.

A big part of being successful in the role is continually developing your skills. We have a strong focus on personal and professional development with quarterly check-ins on your goals. We hold monthly development days where we step away from client projects to work on new skills, and weekly skillshare sessions to share and learn new things. There’s also plenty of opportunities for on-the-job learning whilst working on live projects with support and regular feedback the team.

Role requirements:

  • Living within commuting distance to Brighton (or planning to relocate). Having in-person interaction is something we value and believe positively impacts our performance as a team. We will not be accepting applications for fully remote workers, but would consider visa sponsorship.
  • Solid understanding of design and animation principles demonstrated through a reel or work examples.
  • Experience working in a professional creative studio.
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and Cinema 4D.

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Working on brand-led projects.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Research and development for new projects
  • Designing and animating
  • Developing visual ideas for scripts
  • Creating and preparing assets
  • Giving creative feedback
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, tools and techniques
  • Doing all you can to develop your motion skills
