Job Description

As a Graphic Designer at Optivo you’ll have the exciting opportunity to work as part of a busy Communications Team. You’ll support the development of printed and online materials that reflect our organisation’s values. It’s important the innovative designs you produce are appropriate for the various audiences we communicate with regularly (this can include residents, colleagues and other external stakeholders). Your designs will support our communication objectives across the many on and offline channels we use.

As a brand guardian, you’ll ensure all design and project work follows the corporate brand guidelines and that the creative designs you produce reflect the diverse and inclusive nature of our colleagues and the communities we serve. You’ll also work with the wider Communications Team to ensure materials are in line with our corporate writing style and tone of voice.

We’re looking for someone who can work effectively on multiple projects at the same time with different internal customers while also ensuring all work delivered is of exceptionally high standard, on time and within agreed budgets. Sound like you? Then please apply as we’d love to speak with you.

What you’ll need

You’ll need to have a relevant qualification, including a specific graphics element, with a minimum of two years’ experience of graphic design in a business environment. You’ll have hands on experience and knowledge in appropriate IT systems, including Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint). You’ll be working day to day using a MacBook Pro so an understanding of Apple products is advantageous.

You’ll ideally have demonstrable experience of integrating your design in campaigns across numerous communication channels and have the ability to create, interpret and conceptualise briefs. You’ll need to have exceptional written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team and be flexible and willing to take on new tasks and experiences. You must be willing to travel between office locations when needed.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 5th June 2022 at 23:59pm. Shortlisting: W/C 6th June 2022. Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams video link and will take place W/C 20th June 2022.

*In the event of a high volume of strong applications Optivo reserve the right to close the application deadline early.

* In order to find the best candidate for the role we are open to you working fewer hours than the stipulated 36 hours per week if this is something you require. Please specify this in your application if you’d prefer to work reduced hours below the advertised 36 hours per week (minimum of 21 hours/week).

* Working hours and days in office to be determined in agreement with your manager.

Inclusion and Diversity

At Optivo we work hard to create a diverse and inclusive culture and environment where people are respected for who they are. Encouraging inclusion is not just about protected characteristics, it’s about celebrating differences of thought, opinion, experience and perspective of each individual. We’re all different in our own way and we want our colleagues to feel comfortable, that they belong, and are safe to be themselves at work, without fear of being judged or excluded, but valued for their contribution to our One Team approach.
