Job Description

As a graphic designer at Pulselive you will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of exciting projects, serving both internal and external clients. You will have a hunger and desire to test yourself with some of the most supported and followed brands in world sport. Your work will be seen by millions of people, worldwide, on a daily basis and as a result you should thrive on the responsibility and satisfaction this brings.

You will demonstrate experience in creating, evolving and working with brand guidelines, showcasing a creative flair in how these can be interpreted to create impactful work, whilst also demonstrating an obsession for consistency and perfection across everything you deliver.

You will naturally have a keen eye for design and appreciate the finer details of typography, colour balance, and layout, always striving for pixel-perfect design. You will need to have a confident manner, be a strong communicator and have an open attitude to feedback and client requests. You will often have to manage heavy workloads for a number of teams so strong time management skills and a positive attitude will be essential.

Your role will focus mainly in two areas.

  • Supporting Pulselive’s Partnerships and Marketing function
  • Supporting the delivery of client projects (digital platforms)

Supporting Partnerships & Marketing

You will play a hands on role in the direction and definition of Pulselive’s brand identity, delivered through a suite of creative assets that support our Marketing, Business Development and Employer Brand initiatives. These tasks include, but are not limited to;

  • Various artwork to support marketing and talent acquisition initiatives, including website assets, social media graphics, office environment artwork, industry event assets (stand design, flyers, etc) and any other brand related collateral
  • Supporting business development activity in the creation of assets and the visual refinement of presentation decks for pitches
  • The upkeep and progression of Pulselive’s visual brand identity and guidelines

Supporting Client Projects

As a graphic designer at Pulselive you will also be expected to support the creative team across numerous client projects as and when required. Demonstrating a good knowledge of football, in particular the Premier League, will be beneficial. Tasks vary depending on each client and project but often include;

  • Various small ad-hoc requests, such as resizing logos or creating promotional banners
  • Creation of app store marketing and other client marketing collateral
  • Ideation and development of new graphics and concepts that appeal to football fans
  • Supporting client Commercial/Sponsorship Teams with creation of mockups and assets for their internal use
  • Adaptation of client brand assets for use across digital platforms
  • Creation of new brand identities and creative assets that can be used by Pulselive Product Designers for web and app builds

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supporting multiple teams across the business with various creative requirements as specified above
  • Being the gatekeeper for all Pulselive branded creative, ensuring consistency and striving for perfection across everything we deliver
  • Ideation and development of new graphics and concepts
  • Updating/enhancing of various artefacts via InDesign, Google Slides, Photoshop and Sketch
  • Develop strong working relationships with colleagues through excellent time management, communication and a can-do attitude
  • Keeping up with latest design trends, ensuring work feels fresh, modern and impactful

Requirements

  • A portfolio showcasing a creative flair and attention to detail
  • An interest in sport is a must, in particular Premier League football
  • Experience in developing and working with brand guidelines
  • In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Working knowledge of other design softwares such as Sketch and Invision
  • Experience with video and animation softwares, such as After Effects and Premiere Pro is a bonus
  • Experience in creating illustrations and icons is a bonus
  • An understanding of social media platforms and how to create visual content for them
  • Self-motivated in a team based environment demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm
  • A can-do attitude is a must
  • Confident and can clearly communicate thoughts when discussing designs to both colleagues and clients
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks that support the wider Partnerships and Marketing function
  • A good understanding of wider brand and marketing strategies, providing support where required to the wider Partnerships and Marketing function is a bonus
