Job Description

Are you looking for a chance for your digital skills to enhance young people’s understanding of the world?

We’re looking for a digital & live manager, with experience in creating and managing digital content, to join the team at Encounter Edu. We are a live-streamed learning platform and you will be leading on the content creation and management of the web content.

The company

Encounter Edu is an award-winning education platform for schools. We believe that by creating amazing online live experiences with amazing people and places, young people can develop their curriculum understanding and expand their worldview.

We have been pioneering live video lessons from remote environments, starting in Antarctica in 2009, and developing regular programming from the Arctic, coral reefs, farms, and submarines over the past years.

Your responsibilities

This is a generalist role for someone who would like to apply their digital toolkit to an exciting form of education. There are probably some items that you are comfortable with below and some that may be new, and we can work on that.

  • Website management: managing and curating the content on the Encounter Edu website (https://encounteredu.com/). This will include liaising with the external design and development team.
  • Multimedia content: using the Adobe Creative suite to create video, graphics, and designed documents, much of this is templated. We’re not expecting you to design everything afresh, just to have a good level of competence in creating solid content.
  • Support and moderate live lessons: during live lessons, the digital manager supports teachers with technical questions and the broadcast production team with website management.
  • Social media: creating, posting, and managing content on Encounter Edu’s social channels.
  • Analytics and reporting: compiling analytics for website and third-party platform use and assisting with client and partner reporting.
  • Filing and organisation: keeping all digital assets filed and organised, and easy to find for others!

Person specification

  • Confidence in using Adobe Creative Suite and its products.
  • Experience in managing a website using a CMS (we use Craft, but you don’t need to have used this particular one).
  • Use of spreadsheets to compile and analyse data as well and reporting findings in document or presentation formats.
  • Highly focused on detail and going the extra mile in terms of proofing content
  • Disciplined approach to delivering outputs and comfortable working with a range of stakeholders (teacher users, clients, et al.)
  • Great written communication skills
  • Fluent in social media and creating appropriate content

Benefits

  • 25 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme, with option to contribute extra
  • Location: London (hybrid - we have an office in SW18 and you will need to be prepared to visit up to twice a week)
  • Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience
