Job Description

As a Midweight Designer you will be the heart of the studio's design output. Creating the work that drives projects forward, you will be relied upon to answer design briefs with creative solutions to a high standard. Bringing ideas, energy and solid design skills to any task; from immersion to strategy, expression to implementation.

A week in the life of a DS Midweight:

You collaborate well with designers, strategists and other team members. You happily interact with clients and suppliers.

Generating ideas and interesting creative work with strong conceptual foundations. You are visable and passionate from the first idea to the final stage and your craft and finess are second to none.

Preparing and presenting work, putting together materials for pitches, presentations and workshops.

Supporting team members across the design and client service teams to meet collective goals.

Managing external suppliers to ensure they deliver to good standards.

Going on immersion trips with design teams to collect primary research for projects, wherever clients may be Being culturally connected, understands new waves and trends. Attending events, exhibitions and connects to universities and design institutions.

Does this sound like you....?

Formal training or relevant experience in the discipline with proven skills and competencies. Must have a passion for design and show ability to learn and develop. Most likely you’ll have at least 2–3 years of industry experience.

Your portfolio should demonstrate concept-driven design and well crafted execution. Work should show experimentation, versatility and energy. Has worked on print and digital executions from start to finish.

You must be comfortable working as a team and confident to take part in interviews, workshops and interactions with clients.

Able to flex and be confident working within any industry, with any type of client, anywhere in the world (from startups to corporations to schools and beyond).
