Job Description
About us
Wherever words meet brands, we’re there:
Tone of voice, messaging, naming, strategy, OOH, training, packaging, films, UX, websites, social, internal comms, white papers, fundraising, brochures, digital campaigns…
And we do it for clients in every sector, from Google to Penhaligon's to the British Council.
We’re winning bigger, more complex projects than ever before – and need a smart, hands-on Client Manager to help deliver them. You’ll work alongside our Client Director and writing teams to give our clients brilliant work, and make our partnerships even stronger.
About the role
Your title will be Client Manager. You’ll work into our Client Director, and alongside our teams of writers.
It’s a permanent, full-time position, Monday to Friday. We’re pretty good at sticking to office hours – if you’re burning midnight oil, something’s wrong.
You’ll work from our Soho office, just off Carnaby Street. We’re in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays, and those days are really important – you must be able to commit to them. You should also be ready to come into the office other days if needed.
Your salary will be between £35,000 – £45,000, based on experience.
Benefits
30 days' holiday
Hybrid working (three remote days a week)
Weekly team meal
4pm finish on Fridays
Four additional "work from anywhere" days per year
About you
We’re a happy, kind, tight-knit team. So we need someone who fits naturally into the group and shares our values.
We need someone upbeat, organised, professional, collaborative and proactive. Someone with a can-do attitude and a strategic mindset, who is also happy to roll up their sleeves and get things done.
Also, as a world-class writing agency, we stand or fall by our words. We don’t expect you to be a brand writer, but you will need exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail is non-negotiable.
Diversity
The creative sector needs to get more diverse, fast. And it’s on all of us to do our part.
So we’re especially keen to hear from writers whose backgrounds are underrepresented in our industry. We’re actively working with organisations tackling this problem, to get this ad in front of more people and make our recruitment pool as wide-ranging as possible.
How to apply
Read more about our application process here.
In a nutshell: we take recruitment seriously. We don’t hire new team members often, so it’s essential we find the ideal person. You also need to feel we’re right for you, so you’ll have plenty of time to get to know us.
We have a three-stage application process:
1. Send your CV and a short covering letter to holly@reedwords.com by Sunday, 5th October at midnight.
2. Join a 30-minute call with our Client Director – we’ll ask you questions about your experience, and why you want to join Reed Words.
3. Complete a task, then join an in-person interview to talk through your approach (and wider experience).
If you get to the final stage, that’s a good sign – we don’t normally interview more than five or so candidates.
The whole process usually takes around four to six weeks.
