We’re excited to be recruiting for a passionate and proactive Staff Writer and Social Media Editor to join the team. We’re looking for someone with proven experience of working with an editorial platform, who is passionate about supporting emerging creatives as they enter the industry.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Content and Community Lead and the rest of the Creative Lives team across the entire breadth of our editorial and social media output. You will spend half your time writing engaging and useful articles for the site, and the other half creating digestible content for our social media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching, conducting interviews, writing, editing and uploading content to deadline, and within our tone of voice
  • Using our CMS (content management system) daily to upload and edit articles
  • Helping to organise and activate our editorial calendar
  • Helping manage our social media channels, including writing captions, creating image assets using templates in InDesign, and then scheduling content on Buffer to keep our platforms ahead of schedule
  • Responding to our community on social media
  • Building and sending newsletters using Mailchimp
  • Assisting on capturing our performance via Google Analytics, social media platforms, Buffer and Mailchimp
  • Researching relevant information and industry experts to feed into all areas of content, from our Guides series to our Job Roles page
  • Suggesting ideas for our social media channels and online content
  • Sourcing and suggesting potential editorial content
  • Managing your own time, taking initiative and planning ahead in line with our editorial calendar and upcoming projects
  • Assisting on projects and content for our Company Partners
  • Observing and reporting on interesting trends, ideas and recurring topics on social media

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have great communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Have proven experience in researching, writing and editing articles
  • Have proven experience of writing to deadline with flair and precision
  • Have a strong interest in, and experience with, social media, and can write copy that works on different platforms
  • Be passionate about the creative industry and empowering emerging talent
  • Be organised, good at time-keeping and staying on top of multiple tasks at a time
  • Be passionate about creating engaging and impactful content across a range of formats, with an attention to detail
  • Be a proactive problem solver, and be up for taking on new tasks and challenges

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (Flexible hours between 8am to 7pm)
  • Location: Remote and 2 days a week in-studio – 37-39 Kingsway, WC2B 6TP
  • Contract: Full-time, permanent
