  • Location: London
  • Working Type: Studio Based / Hybrid

  • Types of Projects: Temporary retail activations, immersive pop-up environments, beauty and fragrance campaign launches, visual merchandising

About the Business

Our client is a globally recognised luxury brand with a strong creative identity and a genuine commitment to sustainability. Their in-house design function operates at the intersection of brand vision and commercial delivery, working across international markets to bring campaign concepts to life at scale.

About the Role

This is a design role with real creative ownership. You'll be leading the development of temporary immersive retail environments, from initial concept through to full construction documentation, with a focus on beauty and fragrance activations. Working closely with a Senior Designer and collaborating across internal creative, commercial, and external partner teams, you'll be responsible for translating creative direction into buildable, on-brand environments that work across multiple sites globally.

There's a strong 'retailtainment' element to the work here, so this role suits someone who thinks beyond the visual and considers the full customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead concept design and drawing packages for temporary immersive retail environments, specialising in beauty and fragrance
  • Propose engaging customer journey elements as part of the wider activation experience
  • Research materials and processes suitable for temporary builds, in line with sustainability targets
  • Develop creative direction across multiple scales of implementation
  • Produce guideline packages for external partners to implement design direction across global sites
  • Work closely with a Senior Designer and internal creative and commercial teams to ensure cross-functional, brand-aligned delivery
  • Collaborate with an external beauty partner to develop designs and construction details within tight timelines
  • Oversee visual merchandising strategy and coordinate pop-up activations and events
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to keep design strategies sharp and relevant

Requirements & Experience

  • Proven experience in concept and pop-up design, ideally within beauty and fragrance retail
  • A confident, considered creative point of view
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of current market trends and competitor approaches
  • Well organised, flexible, and comfortable working across multiple workstreams
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, or Vectorworks
  • A degree in Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (a Master's degree is a bonus)
