About us

Madalena Studio are a small design and creative studio based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. We are a multidisciplinary studio with projects spanning brand identities, website design, design for print, event graphics, typeface design, video production, and so on.

Our clients are based in London and internationally, and include the Fashion and Textile Museum, Reuters, award winning interior designers Maddux Creative and drinks and flavour innovators Crucible, among other inspiring individuals and fast-growing businesses.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a talented and committed junior graphic designer to work across all accounts. You will be working with the creative director, as well as working regularly with freelancers / collaborators and having direct contact with clients.

You will have a passion for the creative and the original, and be excited get stuck in and apply your talent to a range of projects and outcomes at a fast pace in an agile environment. You will be happy working across innovative design projects as well as more everyday tasks.

The role is full time and is a hybrid of 3-4 days based in our Berkhamsted studio and 1-2 days remote, depending on workflow. Periods of longer term remote working is open for discussion, eg. traveling and working.

Core requirements

  • 1+ years working experience
  • A strong graphic design portfolio showcasing your creative flair and original thinking
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of typography and design
  • An ability to work on projects from concept to completion, thinking about the big picture as well as the finer details
  • Experience with print and digital projects
  • An awareness of design trends
  • Positive can-do attitude and a team player, as well as being able to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong skills in using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and ideally After Effects.
  • UK residence / visa

Nice to haves

  • Skills in After Effects, Premiere, Wordpress
  • Photography / Lightroom skills
