The Studio is where we bring our research projects to life and create advocacy films for organisations working on social and systemic change. Working collaboratively with the Insight and Strategy team we use filmmaking to immerse our partners in people’s lives, through impact documentaries and insight films. Working independently we find ways to tell stories of hope that inspire change, from animated explainers, to promos and advocacy films.
Core aspects of the role
Our company and our film roster is expanding, and we’re now looking for a video editor and motion graphics designer, who can also provide production support, to help shape our client work and our video marketing. There is strong potential to make this a permanent role, and help grow our production team longterm.
You will have 5+ years of work experience in a commercial video production environment, as a contractor or staff member. If you have a passion for social change, inventive visual storytelling and beautiful design, then we’d love to hear from you.
Skills you need to carry out this role
- Professional experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, with exceptional proficiency in both Premiere and After Effects
- A creative person who can use editing styles and storytelling techniques to produce impactful videos
- Ability to keep to deadlines and multiple projects
- Able to work to a high level of accuracy and technical ability
- Accurate record keeping, asset management
- Professional experience of music and footage usage rights
What to expect
Working with the Head of Studio to tell stories that create change and understanding around nuanced social issues:
- Editing original content, or sourced material, to create documentary, promotional, explainer and research films in Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Colour grading
- Sound mixing
- Subtitling, exporting
- Tech savvy with good knowledge of encoding and codecs, uploading to web.
- Developing edit plans
- Sourcing stock/archive footage
- Liaising with the research team and partners
- Creating assets for social media
- Support in responding to creative briefs
- Assisting in production activity
- Knowledge of Sony FS7 is a bonus
