Middleweight Designer

About the role:

We are a design and branding agency based in Clerkenwell, London looking for a creative, hardworking and talented Middleweight Designer to join our multi-disciplined team. As a Middleweight Designer at Philosophy your role will be to help create, interpret and implement concepts and ideas-driven work across a broad range of projects ranging from branding, digital, motion, social, print and signage. You should be confident in developing and articulating your ideas to present to the wider team and clients.

Our clients include property and places to professional services and charities, and our work varies across corporate branding, place branding, digital, advertising, brochures, wayfinding and signage. Experience working within a team, and strong communication and presenting skills are a must.

Recent work includes:

• Creating a website for a charity

• Rebranding and website for trademark and patent law firm

• Branding research for cancer health centre

• Wayfinding and signage for North London development

• Place branding in East London

• Website design for exclusive residential destination brand in central London

• Creating marketing suites for London housing association

Key responsibilities:

• Design for a broad range of projects and sectors including branding, print communication, digital and moving image

• Ability to develop creative solutions to complex briefs, visualise them in a meaningful way and implement across a variety of touchpoints

• Keen to explore fresh ideas and creative solutions by combining cultural awareness with an enquiring mind

• You need to be able to ‘sell’ your work to clients and your team and be able to articulate your vision

• You will be able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, working alongside the senior designers and Creative Director as well as working closely with the project management team, to confidently conceive, create, present and implement ideas in line with a determined communication strategy

• Broaden and enhance knowledge by keeping up to date with innovations and competitors

• Experience working within the property sector and place branding would be an asset

Key skills:

• A good working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

• Proficient in After Effects. Other digital and motion graphics skills are an asset

• Confidence and experience of working across both digital and print platforms

• Strong knowledge of typography

• Good communication skills and ability to articulate your creative vision in a way others can easily understand

• Comfortable presenting work to both colleagues and clients with ability to take on board internal and client feedback and maintain a positive mindset in developing design

Personal profile:

• Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar agency setting

• Proactive and hardworking to achieve effective results

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to work both within a team and independently, when required

• Ability to keep a ‘cool’ head and work to tight deadlines

• Excellent creative thinker, adept at idea generation

• Proven ability to deliver beyond what is expected with the support of colleagues, where appropriate
