Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Midweight designer with 2–3 years in a brand focussed studio who values ideas as much as the craft, is a fundamentals fanatic and has a passion for utilising design to effect measurable change for our clients. The ideal candidate must exhibit both a strong individual creative flair and dedication to achieving the highest possible standards. Attention to detail, demonstrable through layout and typography as well as creative individuality in image making and a willingness to problem-solve through design is a must.

At UnitedUs we believe in surprising our clients and the industries in which they sit, ordinary won’t do. If you are interested in creating extraordinary brands in a multidisciplinary studio where your ideas can truly meet their potential, then we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be tasked with creating brands with strong graphic foundations that bring our strategies to life in bold and exciting ways.
  • Strategy leads to great creativity, and it’s at the core of every piece of work we deliver. You should bring evidence of how you've used design to solve problems or realise opportunities – and showcase the outcomes of your work.
  • Design principles form the foundation of everything you create. Beautifully considered layouts, positioning, composition and evocative movement – a satisfyingly succinct structure to every creative.
  • Experience with animation or Illustration skills would be an added bonus.

The day-to-day:

  • Working as part of the creative team to formulate, create and deliver international brand identities.
  • Delivering brand projects from concept to completion.
  • Working across the agency to support wider communication work.
  • Pitch and craft compelling visual identities through the creative mediums that you enjoy.
  • Bring ideas and examples of how your brands and visual identities could be brought to life through motion (you don’t need to be an animator just be able to show you can think about design in a holistic way).
  • Collaborate with colleagues, copywriters, digital designers and clients to realise creative projects.

All of these will be in collaboration and with the support of your teammates, but we’ll also look to you to have confidence and enjoyment in leading work in your discipline.

Software

  • You have a strong skill set in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • You should be embracing emerging technologies, especially in the field of AI and be able to show how you realise your ideas using this technology.

Personality

As our name suggests, we are a UnitedUs – an ambitious tight-knit team of experts each bringing our own unique perspective and experiences to every project, therefore you need to be a team player with individual flair and creativity. You should be someone who enjoys the creative challenge and is always looking for a better solution to every question. You should be someone who loves to interact with others, someone who enjoys elevating others as much as yourself and someone who is driven by the collaborative quality of the work we produce.

Creative flair will be at the core of who you are – bringing your unique perspective, ideas and aspirations to every brand expression. You will bring gut instinct as much as considered logic to really challenge each outcome.

The outcomes will be a focal point of our projects and you should relish the craftsmanship of creativity and produce every piece of work with our maker’s mark of quality.

  • At least 2-3 years of previous experience in an agency with strong examples of branding / graphic design projects from conception to completion

  • A solid understanding of core graphic design principles – either through formal education or self-taught

  • If you’re successful at your first interview, we will invite you to a second interview which will last a little longer, and involve a brief task so you can showcase your abilities and we can get an insight into how your mind works.
  • Thereafter, we will contact you with the outcome of your second interview within a week.
