Job Description

At Tangent, we believe the best design is universal – capable of reaching wide, varied audiences and always open to everyone. This belief informs everything we do and keeps our output, operations and values people-centric. Since 2006 we’ve successfully delivered high profile projects, but more importantly we want our work to contribute to society and to improve the lives of wider groups; culturally, socially and economically.

Our strategic work helps our clients to tell their story: defining who they are, what they do and why it matters. We then create design and identity systems that capture attention and can clearly communicate these values and distinctions to a wide range of audiences. The work we do can be applied across all areas where audiences interact with brands, including digital, print, packaging, environment, experiential & film. Over time we've built a team of individuals who share a wide interest in the world. This keeps our focus broad and allows us to view projects through multiple lenses, triggering discussion and debate in the pursuit of the strongest ideas. One of our main goals is that our team are motivated, fulfilled and happy coming into the studio. Everyone should get a sense of accomplishment from the projects they work on, feel personally fulfilled and valued as an employee.

We're looking for experienced creatives who believe the most rewarding projects exist in the spaces where design can help to educate, inform and change perceptions. We need ambitious thinkers and do-ers who can clearly define concepts, have the bravery to experiment, can communicate well and are open to the ideas of others.

You will:

  • Own the end-to-end design process, from initial concept to final applications
  • Understand brand strategy and how to convert it into concept driven, memorable identity
  • Be ambitious
  • Be willing to challenge the familiar and take creative risks
  • Create artwork for screen, print and social
  • Contribute to internal design inspiration sessions, workshops and publications
  • Bring your experience and knowledge to the table to benefit each project
  • Ensure design work answers the brief & consistently meets our collective high standards

Skills & experience:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role previously either in a studio or freelance capacity
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Digital and motion graphics skills essential
  • Experience building bold, visual storytelling decks that sell your creative ideas and excite audiences
  • Comfortable discussing ideas with the team and clients
  • Experience working to tight deadlines
  • Consider yourself a self-starter with a proactive can-do attitude
  • Confident presentation skills

Salary: £30,000 — £38,000
