Job Description
Graphic and UI designer
Hybrid (London)
£45,000 to £55,000, plus up to £5,100 bonus each year
Apply by 11pm on Sunday 31st August
Quietroom is an insight-led communications consultancy. We’re here to make pensions, investment and insurance accessible to the people who need them. Our clients include pension schemes and providers, as well as asset managers, insurers and advisers.
We're looking for an in-house designer to work with some of the biggest names in financial services. You'll take ownership of our brand and be responsible for driving the growth of our design function.
What you’ll do
In this job you will:
- design print and online materials, such as newsletters, brochures and emails
- create wireframes and clickable prototypes
- craft strong visual identities
- own and develop our brand, both online and internally across our templates
- oversee and build our network of freelance designers
- produce social-media assets for Quietroom’s marketing
You can work from home or at our office on High Holborn as it suits you. But you must be available for in-person client meetings, and company away days every 3 months.
Who you are
You might be an experienced graphic designer with a growing portfolio of UI work or a UI designer who is happy to work in print as needed.
You’re probably at the point in your career where you’ve got lots of experience and are looking to take on a leadership role. We’re a growing business and our design function is growing too.
We’re looking for the right person to drive that growth and take us to the next level.
We're interested in people who can:
- make complex products and services easy to understand and accessible
- use analytics, user feedback and research to make decisions about design
- spot process problems and fix them
- safeguard high-quality content through the review process, winning over stakeholders as you do it
What we offer
As well as your salary and bonus you’ll get:
- matched pension contributions of up to 6% once you’ve been with us for 6 months
- 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (this increases to 27 days after 5 years)
- employee-assistance programme for you and your family
- regular team socials
How to apply
Please send an email to jobs@quietroom.co.uk with:
- your CV
- your portfolio
- a cover letter explaining why we’d be a good fit for each other
If you want to use AI tools to help you apply, please read our guidance first.
What happens next
We’ll hold in-person interviews at our office in September. If you’re successful, we'll invite you to work on a pretend project for 90 minutes with our content director, Russ. We'll do this online, send the material ahead of time and give you a week to get ready. We'll compensate you for your time. We then hope to make a decision in the first week of October.
We know that the jobs market is rough right now. And too often, companies put candidates through processes that are time-consuming and demoralising. Whether you end up working with us or not, we want you to have a good experience with our business. That’s why we promise to:
- acknowledge your application
- tell you quickly if your application is unsuccessful
- give you detailed feedback if we interview you – and invite you to reciprocate
Apply by 11pm on Sunday 31st August
No agencies please.
