Job Description

The Digital Fairy is a full service creative marketing studio working for brands within the fashion, lifestyle and beauty industries connecting them to youth and digital culture. Our creative department Fairy Studios produce content for some of the biggest beauty brands in the biz, including Bybi, REN Skincare, Dove, Bleach London and Estee Lauder Companies. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented in-house photographer to join our team creating innovative social-first still life content. The role is multifaceted as you will be across the entire process from the concept, art direction, lighting, shooting and retouching.

You will report directly to our Art Director and be supported by our Producers. You will work with the existing photographer to understand our style, and what it means to be the in-house photographer and guardian of content creation at The Digital Fairy.

This role would really suit a beauty obsessive with a hybrid skillset of technical and creative. You could be a photography graduate or already established in your career - we are focused on talent so we are interested in hearing from a range of candidates at different levels.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting into The Digital Fairy in-house Art Director (former Senior Photographer)
  • Working into our Art Director to respond to client briefs, creating and sometimes presenting proposals which include ideas and references, modifying with any internal/client feedback to perfect before execution
  • Mostly shooting product/texture content for beauty clients (gifs, stills, video), although briefs will flex from time to time.
  • You will ensure that we use and have the most updated hardware and software to create cutting edge content
  • You will be responsible for all image filing, grading and retouching outputs from Fairy Studios
  • Suggesting props/backgrounds for all shots. You will self-style products/props/swatches on shoots where we don’t have an assistant help. You will manage the curation, organisation and disposal of all props
  • Maintain and constantly increase knowledge of key programmes such as Photoshop, Capture One and Lightroom
  • It will be your responsibility to maintain a log of feedback to streamline future client work
  • Eagerly researching/ understanding trends across all platforms, to create content that connects and engages clients audiences
  • Understanding all dimension and format requirements, sometimes even suggesting ideas for this
  • Ability to help create and bring to life a distinct look and feel for our clients. Understanding and incorporating branding rules and guidelines into the work you create
  • You will be studio based (Hackney Central), you will manage and be responsible for the space you work in and ensure it is immaculate, organised and client friendly
  • Attend relevant talks, courses and training to further your skills and career
  • You will grow and maintain a log of photographers and creatives for the company to collaborate with on wider projects
