Job Description

We're looking for a Project Manager to join our team at HATO. The position will play a key role in the studio, managing the delivery of external projects primarily covering digital & interactive design, branding and strategy as well as internal printing and publishing projects related to Hato Press and Hato Store.

HATO is a studio, publishing house and concept store. We develop design through various mediums, including production, play and participation.

We create brands, digital products, campaigns and more with our clients, transforming the narrative of their practice through technology, design thinking and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the project lead in communication and organising of all projects, often dealing with senior key stakeholders, including C-suite and founders.
  • Planning, implementing and leading the delivery of studio projects, ranging in scope, size, budget and deliverables
  • Managing project and resource management systems, such as Notion and Smartsheet, using these to file deliveries, track feedback and project statuses and onboarding clients where needed.
  • Working closely with the team to develop pitches and proposals, leading on budgets and schedules
  • Onboarding new projects: putting together statements of work, contract negotiations, payment plans, and studio schedules to ensure projects can run to deadline and on budget
  • Assigning resources to each project and maintaining and updating team schedules
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing on-demand contact on project status and changes
  • Leading weekly studio scheduling and project status meetings
  • Monitor project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
  • Ensure all deliveries effectively respond to the brief and feedback/ quality assurance
  • Identifying problems within the project workflow or communication channels and providing solutions
  • Understanding and capturing client requirements.
  • Assisting accounts department with monthly budget reports
  • Studio management tasks when required, ad-hoc

Requirements

  • Understanding of process of web development from UX/UI design to development and deployment.
  • Proven experience managing in-depth branding projects
  • Confident and welcoming in order to build a strong team ethic with a genuine personal accountability on projects (including clients as team members).
  • Experience in using project management systems, specifically Notion
  • Ability to relate and communicate with different industries and people, a desire to want to learn and grow with each project and client.
  • Familiarity with different ways of working including long-lead, sprint, agile and waterfall.
  • Ability to manage complex client-side stakeholder groups
  • Has an exceptional eye for detail
  • Familiar with technical terminology and ability to translate into jargon-free language; a strong desire to share knowledge and collaborate with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to communicate with clients and team members
