The Opportunity

BMB are looking for a collaborative, vocal, creative and enthusiastic Strategy Director.

We are an agency on a roll; winning pitches with Nike, FreeNow, Rude Health, La Famiglia Rana, Samsung FutureGen and innocent drinks, as well as making brilliant creative for Farrow & Ball and GymBox and winning both strategy and creative awards.

We want a Strategy Director who revels in logical chaos, observant enthusiasm and developed opinions to join this team and help to continue its success.

This is a full-time hire, with boundless of scope and opportunity. Not least, to step up as a leader in the department and take over on some of the agency’s most ambitious accounts whilst the Head of Strategy is on maternity leave. There will be plenty of creative and leadership opportunities that extend beyond this period too.

How you’d spend your day (ish):

• Key accounts:

o You’ll be the strategy lead on key agency accounts including La Famiglia Rana, Samsung, Farrow & Ball, GymBox, Rude Health and Nike.

• Pitches and new business:

o Leading new business pitches either solo or alongside the Head of Strategy. Will include pitches of all sizes from social to TTL.

• Partnering with the CCO and creative teams:

o As this role will be working on some of the agency’s most creative accounts you’ll be strategically partnering with business leads in these areas to deliver the best across all channels.

• Improve data inputs to strategy process:

o Assisting the Head of Strategy in building digital tools for the agency which will add rigor and insight to our agency proposition: the most human brand wins.

o Establishing best practice in terms of social listening and leading the way in the department by using it across new and existing business.

• Resourcing:

o Working with Head of Strategy to cover the resourcing side of the department and mentoring the wider team

o Occasionally supporting with recruiting the best strategic talent in the industry to help grow the department

• A vocal part of the agency:

o Helping us to make our agency proposition famous with industry thought pieces and contributing to regular ‘humanity’ reports (eg our latest ‘how to be funny’ report – a practical guide for brands trying to find their sense of humour)

What we’re looking for

• A strategic leader who ewnables great creative across all channels

• Expertise in strategic thinking for integrated campaigns, not just thinking toward the big TVCs, but thinking laterally about the channels which would enable the biggest impact.

• A leader and mentor for the strategy division who can help shape the department and guide more junior members of the team

• Someone who loves pitching, presenting, guiding, educating, leading in places they can be seen.

• Someone with insight and presence who brings a new voice and fresh eyes to the concept of strategy and how it leads creative.

• Group Income Protection – Automatic enrolment in this at no cost to employee. If employee cannot work because of illness or injury for more than 13 consecutive weeks, this will pay 50% of salary for up to 5 years.

• Season Ticket Loan – This covers the cost of an annual season ticket for travel between home and work upon successful completion of three months continued employment. The loan is interest-free with maximum 11 months term and will be deducted from salary each month.
