Job Description

Shoreditch Design

  • We’re a mixed-specialism design agency based in the heart of Shoreditch. We pride ourselves on our no-nonsense approach and silver-service quality. We’ve got big ambitions over the next few years and believe a vibrant, supportive studio culture is essential to our success.
  • At Shoreditch, we:
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork. Everyone’s ideas are valuable. We actively encourage ideation and critique at every step – no egos here.
  • Value honest, open communication. We strive for excellence in every aspect of our work – from the deliverables to the design process and business development.
  • Don’t forget to have fun! We work hard and play hard, with team activities, monthly socials, and company trips from the Alps to Ibiza.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Work across a range of digital design experiences - while mostly focused on UX/UI or product-focused briefs, you'll also get stuck into branding, graphic design, pitch decks, animation storyboards and more.
  • Lead complex, fixed-term jobs – including client and project management – ensuring timely delivery to our silver-service standard. We don’t have a dedicated account/PM team so being highly organised with exceptional verbal communication is essential.
  • Collaborate with designers to create exceptional digital products and websites that exceed client expectations, demonstrating best practices, creativity, and commercial impact.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines that ensure consistency and quality across all our work.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, user requirements and technical constraints – and translate them into elegant, intuitive, effective designs.
  • Lead design sprints, workshops and presentations that engage clients and explain our process and problem-solving approach.
  • Mentor junior and mid-weight designers, offering feedback, support and guidance to help them grow.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve productivity and processes across the wider team.

Essential skills and experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as a UX/UI or Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design thinking and process.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Bonus points for After Effects, Webflow, Framer or similar.
  • Deep understanding of design systems, interaction design, user-centred design and product principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – you can clearly articulate your thinking, rationale and vision to both clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Workplace incentives

Financial

  • An extra day of holiday for each year of service
  • 3-month unpaid sabbatical after 3 years

  • Hybrid model: 3 days a week in-office (Thursdays mandatory)
  • 5 days a week in-office required during 3-month probation

Social

  • Monthly socials
