Job Description

A RUM FELLOW is a design studio dedicated to artisan made rugs and textiles founded by partners Caroline Lindsell & Dylan O’Shea based in London. Known for intricate pattern and abundant colour A RUM FELLOW designs are crafted to the highest quality and with upmost integrity by artisans in Guatemala, India, and Nepal. A Rum Fellow works within the luxury interiors market servicing trade clients.

We are looking for an account manager to join our team with a client focused approach to championing A RUM FELLOW brand and designs. This is a full-time role based in our London studio. Candidates should have proven experience within the luxury interiors market and working with trade clients. The purpose of the role is to deliver an excellent service to trade clients and to expand our reach to new interior designers. The focus is on informing and educating designers on A RUM FELLOW designs and services and how to integrate them into their schemes.

Purpose of the Position

• Brand champion and communicator

• To deliver an excellent customer experience for A Rum Fellow clients

• Manage clients through the order process from initial meeting through to delivery

• Inform a wider interiors community of ARF & establish strong relationships with new clients

• Deliver excellent service to incoming sales enquiries

• Create excellent long-term relationships with interior designers

• Provide excellent creative guidance to clients throughout the order process & for bespoke projects

Key Day to day Responsibilities

Sales + Customer service

• Provide an excellent service to existing clients

• Excellent communication to client enquiries by phone & email

• Preparing quotations, providing product information, order updates and sales related enquiries

• Issue sales invoices, coordinate payments, and create shipping documents

• Proactive generation of new sales leads - initiating, conducting, and follow up of sales appointments

• Inviting and welcoming clients to the studio to introduce collections and provide excellent assistance through the sales process

• Conduct sales presentations at interior design studios & online presentations

• Brand ambassador – educate & inform clients and partners on ARF brand, projects and collections

• Producing sales reports and tracking new leads

• Updating sales order and production pipelines with excellent communication

• Coordinate returnable samples – liaising with clients, packaging, shipping, logging and managing returnable samples

Marketing

• Actively promote ARF through social media channels

• Planning, coordinating & delivering digital mailouts

• Website updates - maintaining catalogue of products, information, and imagery

• Involvement in every aspect of tradeshows & marketing events from initial planning, delivery, and follow up

• Creative input to the marketing strategy & in maintain excellent relations with clients

Studio Roles

• Maintaining an organised and exceptionally presented studio environment for clients to visit

• Coordinate shipping & couriers - securing quotes, preparation of documentation, end to end oversight

• Processing orders - packing and shipping customer orders with careful presentation

• Receiving + checking production deliveries of rugs and fabrics. Packing orders, lifting rugs/fabric rolls and packing up large product items

• Manage and update client files

• Manage returnable samples – coordinating with clients, preparing for shipment, logging in/out, and chasing in, and following up

• Other duties as required

Key Qualities

• Personable and confident - charismatic, quick-witted, passionate, informative and helpful

• Energetic and positive attitude for helping clients, a natural communicator with exceptional written and verbal skills

• A keen eye for design and natural affinity for using colour and pattern is essential to this role

• Experience and natural ability in guiding clients through the creative order process, confident in providing design input and assertive in steering clients

• Previous experience in sales, customer service and order processing is essential to this role

• Experience within the luxury interiors market is highly valued

• A passion for interiors, artisanal production, textiles and rugs is highly valued

• An eye for detail in presentation, excellent administrative and organizational skills

• Confident to work independently, managing schedules, and meeting targets

• Fantastic team player - we are a small team and everyone’s contribution has an impact on both the business and client relationships

• Excellent computer skills – must be experienced in using spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace. Adobe suite skills are useful. Knowledge of Xero & Squarespace helpful.

• Ability to be adapt to the changing roles within a growing small creative business

• This is not a design role, however candidates must be confident in providing design advise to assist clients

• This role will be physical requiring the moving, rolling, & packing of large rugs and heavy fabric rolls – an essential part of this roll

• Driving license & access to a vehicle would be ideal
