Motion Graphics Designer
Job Description
Working closely with the Head of Global Creative, the Global Creative Director and the Studio Manager, the Motion Graphics Designer will develop positive working relationships with the internal customers of our in-house agency and across the entire team.
The right person will have strong creative instincts and you will thrive off collaborating with your creative colleagues. You will have an excellent eye for craft and storytelling in moving image. In addition to design and motion craft skills, the role demands an aptitude for detail in all aspects of motion delivery and an active appreciation of ongoing, dynamic changes in viewing trends and behaviours across all relevant social channels. You will use your skills to create visually dynamic content which is relevant, compelling and brand-enhancing. You will also be personally supportive of The Body Shop’s ethos of business as a force for good, by generating positive economic, social and environmental impact.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver high quality branded motion story telling for digital channels. Working as part of our multi-disciplinary creative team, you’ll use your flair for visual storytelling to develop ideas in ways that are effective and relevant for the distribution channel, but also true to the goals, tone and style of the brand.
- Plan & help manage projects. Taking a brief, you will work closely with the project managers to fully grasp the project deliverables and technical specifications to support with delivery and deadlines in a collaborative and optimal manner
- Manage media. You will maintain a clean workflow and project structure that can be passed on to vendors and additional designers and editors.
- You will be able to maintain quality whilst helping the team to deliver to short deadlines and fast turn-around times, taking the initiative on projects to deliver new and innovative solutions in motion
Experience Required
- A good level of experience of creating content for advertising/branding and customer experience briefs, across a wide range of channels, including social (paid and organic), website and CRM communications
- Experience of creative brainstorming and evidence of strong idea generation in moving image to deliver tangible results.
- Superb visual and conceptual skills to solve problems and create novel solutions
- An engaging showreel of work that demonstrates impressive motion graphics including 2D, 3D, live action and experimentation
- Evidence of experience producing storyboards, and having an understanding of camera angles and narrative flow
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Motion Graphics/Animation advantageous but not essential - self-taught also welcome with strong portfolio
- Evidence of experience working on content for retail brands, specific Beauty industry experience not essential
